    Men's pommel horse

We've around 15 minutes to wait until Max Whitlock defends his pommel horse Olympic title.

He made history five years ago, when - in winning both pommel horse and floor gold - he became Team GB's first ever gold medallist in artistic gymnastics.

In Tokyo, he has chosen to focus on just the pommel horse, the apparatus on which he is a three-time world champion.

“The pressure has completely rocketed through the roof,” Whitlock said earlier this year.

“Knowing that if do not come back from Tokyo with a gold medal around my neck, people will feel like I haven’t done my job properly. That’s quite tough.”

There's only one place to start, a place of flips, tricks and gold joy for GB...

Shortly after that lovely BMX gold, Team GB put a silver on the board in the pool...

Then Ben Whittaker guaranteed himself at least a silver as he reached his boxing final...

But not everything has been so lovingly spirited. Things got a bit controversial in the boxing ring....

Team GB's European champion medallist Emily Godley sits top of the pile after the women's 76kg lifts.

Godley's combined total of 222kg across the snatch and clean and jerk was the best of the Group B lifters, but we'll have to wait for the eight athletes from the elite Group A to lift (from 11:50) to see where she ends up in the shuffle.

A quick word from Katelyn Ohashi about Team GB gymnast Max Whitlock, who is in the final of the pommel horse (from 10:41 BST) and will go first of the eight gymnasts.

"I would defiantly want to to later because in my opinion, even though it's nice to get it over with but I feel like the scoring is a little bit more lenient.

"It gets a little bit higher as the rotation goes on and you also don't have to sit there and wait for other scores to come in all nervous."
