Ben Whittaker's performance means he is the second British boxer to book a final place after Pat McCormack's bye earlier on Sunday.
McCormack will fight for men's welterweight gold after his semi-final opponent Aidan Walsh was forced to withdraw due to injury.
American Xander Schauffele has extended his lead to three shots in the men's golf. He's at 17 under par, with Team GB's Paul Casey and Japan's Hideki Matsuyama in a group of four on 14 under.
They have all played seven holes.
Ireland's Rory McIlroy is a shot further back on 13 under after eight holes.

The win gives Germany a measure of revenge after Argentina knocked them in the semi-finals in Rio five years ago.
