While Stu's mate snoozes on the sofa, the rest of you are wide awake and sending your #rlbreakfast selfies in droves. Apparently the hashtag is trending in the UK, so keep them coming. Top work.

It is the early hours of the morning here in the UK - or the dying embers of the night if you've got home from the nightclub. It is dark outside. It is cold outside. And we're huddled up in our Salford Quays bunker to tell you about all the action from Melbourne.

Feeling sorry for us yet? Good. So the least you can do is provide us with some thoughts. Can England replicate the Class of '92? And if so where will the match be won? Or will the Aussies do what they enjoy doing best - and beat the 'Poms'?

Tweet using #rlbreakfast, text 81111 or come to MediaCity and tell us yourself if you wish. No, don't do that.

Simmer down Wigan fans. This isn't an exclusive picture of England full-back Sam Tomkins returning to his hometown club.

Nope, this is the New Zealand Warriors man showing off the special commemorative shirt that England are wearing today.

The red and white hooped design marks the centenary of the historic third Test of the 1914 Lions tour, a match that became known as the Rorke's Drift Test.

England, playing with only nine fit men at various stages, defied the odds to beat Australia 14-6 and secure the Ashes.

    Ian Millward
Former Super League and Australian NRL coach on BBC Two

"It is quite chilly here in Melbourne and there is a bit of an English feel to it. There is a bit of anxiety here, nervousness around the stadium. John Mansour has been churning up the metres on the wing for Penrith but struggled last week. Australia need to get their back three in the game from early on. Today is a great opportunity for England. If I was an Englishman I would be excited."

    Brian Noble
Former Great Britain coach on BBC Two

"I have never met as many nervous Australians before a big game. England have got plenty of donkey under the bonnet but where is the extra fuel going to come from? England have to go for the jugular, Steve McNamara has picked a fluent, attacking team. They have to transform their confidence into a good performance."

As we've already mentioned, Great Britain legends Martin Offiah and Shaun Edwards have been there, done it and got the Ashes tracksuit to prove it. Now the former Wigan heroes are quietly confident that the current crop can follow in their footsteps.

Offiah believes the Aussies are "there for the taking", while Edwards is confident England can build on their opening win against Samoa.

"The England lads got the job done against Samoa and I was impressed with what I saw," says Edwards. "Playing in that heat and atmosphere in Brisbane is not easy, I've been there."

    Paul Sculthorpe
    Former Great Britain captain

"What a great opportunity to put Australia out of a competition and it is not often we see that. You want to beat the Australians and this is a great opportunity with the forwards we have.

"They will improve from last week but England will too. You can throw the form book out of the window. It is a game I always enjoyed and brought the best out in me. It is the biggest stage, it doesn't get any bigger."

  13. What is the Four Nations?published at 04:42 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2014

Clearly the Four Nations is exactly what it says on the tin - like a well-marketed brand of paint. Four teams slugging it out to win one of the most prestigious prizes in international rugby league.

The 2014 tournament is the fourth edition of the tournament and sees Australia, New Zealand, England and Samoa involved.

The teams play each other once in the pool stage with the top two nations going through to the final on 15 November.

Australia beat England in the 2009 and 2011 finals, but lost to New Zealand in the 2010 showpiece. Can England finally end the Southern Hemisphere stranglehold?

    Jon Wilkin
Former England international on BBC Two

"We have to be careful because Australia played poorly last week. There is a lot of optimism in English rugby league. This is a line in the sand, we can knock Australia out of a tournament, it is just a huge opportunity."

Two changes for England from that narrow win against Samoa. Skipper Sean O'Loughlin returns from injury to start at loose forward, while Wigan team-mate Dan Sarginson comes in at centre. Hull's Joe Westerman and Castleford's Michael Shenton are the unfortunate pair to drop out of the squad.

G'day mates! Yes, that's right - England are 80 minutes away from causing a major shock in the world of international rugby.

Steve McNamara's men didn't hit the high notes against Samoa in their Four Nations opener, but they still did enough in the searing Brisbane heat to see off their opponents in a tense 32-26 win.

Australia's players would have given up a lifetime supply of stubbies in exchange for that result. The under-strength world champions were embarrassed 30-12 by New Zealand - a thumping by their lofty standards - in their opener.

And that means they must beat England today to avoid an even bigger embarrassment - becoming the first Kangaroos side not to reach a the final of a major tournament since 1954.
