Travis Burns concedes a penalty with a swinging arm to Stevie Ward.
Leeds look to break.
St Helens wingers Matty Fleming and Adam Swift have both made key gathers from chips to the corner.
It's obviously a weapon Leeds are keen to use.
Nice breakaway by Mark Flanagan for the Saints, but Swift then drops a pass and the set falters away.
It's nip and tuck at Belle Vue, but it's Wakefield who lead at the break.
Ben Heaton's converted try for Halifax levels the scores at 10-10, but in the last minute of the first half Dan Smith goes over for Wakefield, with Craig Hall's conversion and a late penalty ensuring that the Super League side go in with an eight-point lead.
Zak Hardaker scampers away for Leeds but Saints get the crucial tackle in and the resulting last tackle play comes to nothing.
Saints need to shut down the Rhinos forwards, who are playing a delightful offload game at the moment.
Warning shot for St Helens as Liam Sutcliffe clips a tantalising kick downfield for Leeds Rhinos and Kallum Watkins just cannot get to it before it bounces dead.
Saints need to find some field position.
Leeds are playing smart rugby, nothing hurried.
Danny McGuire kicking into good areas and turning St Helens, and as the home side try to clear their lines Jon Wilkin knocks on.
Scrum in the Saints' half, with Leeds head and feed.

"Saints had a two on one over there. The pass went out and Ash Handley came from nowhere."
Well that is rugby league for you in a nutshell.
Saints were threatening the Leeds line with numbers on the right, but as the ball was pushed wide up stepped Ash Handley to streak away on the intercept and touch down.
No one was touching him, Leeds lead.
First cries of "Yorkshire!" from the away support. Decent set by the Rhinos with a long kick, but Saints have space to run into on their first carry.
This is one of those Super League games that feels like a main event. It gives you those butterflies.
The hooter has gone, and we're underway.
Not far away from kick-off now...
Perfect time then to give you a few milestones.
Saints half-back Jon Wilkin can make it a ton of tries if he scores a hat-trick tonight.
Rob Burrow will make his 450th career appearance when he steps off the bench tonight for the Rhinos.
Danny McGuire can make it 250 touchdowns if he scores a treble.
There's a big crowd at Langtree Park and the atmosphere is bubbling up nicely as the sides walk out of the tunnel side by side. Kick-off is only moments away.
As well as our live text service, we have a choice of listening for you to accompany our coverage tonight.

Leeds Rhinos are without some big names for tonight's game, including England winger Ryan Hall with a hand injury, but one star welcomed back into the fold is his international team-mate Kallum Watkins.
The elastic-legged centre has been in great form in 2015, scoring six tries in nine games, including a brace in his last outing against Wakefield on Easter Monday.
Tonight he plays on the wing with Ashton Golding missing out, while the other big story is captain Kevin Sinfield being left out of the starting XIII, and will feature off the bench.
It's fair to say Saints' hard-earned 11-8 win against Huddersfield last weekend was anything but a classic, but it did mark the return from a six-month lay-off for playmaker Luke Walsh.
The former Penrith Panthers half-back dropped a field goal after coming off the bench as Keiron Cunningham's side ended a three-game winning streak, but remains on the bench as Saints keep faith with the pairing of Travis Burns and Jon Wilkin.
Josh Jones replaces Lance Hohaia, Matty Fleming - the 182nd summer era debutant for the Saints - is in for Matty Dawson after the centre's injury against the Giants on Sunday.
So there's the teams. What do you make of them? Anyone else think, like we did in the office, that Luke Walsh might start in the halves for Saints?
Leeds go into the game four points clear at the top but can the champions close the gap on Brian McDermott's men? Or is this going to be the Rhinos' season?
Of course, if you're still excited by the return of Sam Tomkins to Super League, we'd love to hear from you too.

Halifax score.... Scott Murrell's kick caused problems for Jacob Miller and James Saltonstall picks up the pieces.
Murrell's kick is good, and the Championship side lead. Early claims being staked for an upset.
But! Alas... Richard Owen gets his second moments later, converted by Craig Hall. Wakefield ahead for the second time.
St Helens: Makinson; Fleming, Turner, Jones, Swift; Burns, Wilkin; Amor, Roby, Walmsley, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Flanagan, Thompson.
Replacements: Walsh, Masoe, Richards, Savelio.
Leeds: Hardaker; Watkins, Ablett, Moon, Handley; Sutcliffe, McGuire; Cuthbertson, Aiton, Peacock, S. Ward, Delaney, Singleton.
Replacements: Burrow, Sinfield, Achurch, Yates.
Referee: Ben Thaler (RFL)
But let's look forward to what we've got coming up this evening. Here's tonight's line-ups as Super League's top two go head to head...
Wakefield might have been left pointless by Warrington in their last Super League outing, a forgettable 80-0 loss, but they are in the board against Halifax in the Challenge Cup fifth round inside 11 minutes.
Winger Richard Owen scored the try, but Craig Hall misses the conversion.
