Scotland have started with some purpose in the second half. Everybody thought Australia v New Zealand later would grab the headlines... Well there's every chance that this one might.

Scotland winger Lewis Tierney has the measure of Wigan team-mate George Williams today.

Again the Scot reads Williams's kick and can eagerly bring the ball out for his side.

England have had five of the first six sets.

Scotland will feel buoyed by that. Three and a half minutes they had to defend.

England play their way to the fifth tackle, but George Williams's high kick lacks depth and Scotland hold out.

The home side go on the attack again - winning a series of repeat sets at the start of the half - but squirm possession, in part because of some aggressive Scottish defence.

Coach Wayne Bennett will be tearing his hair out.

It was quite an animated England changing room at half-time. It was an outstanding first half from the Scotland team. 

They need to match or improve that.

Matthew Hobbs: Poor first half from England. Disjointed in attack, Scotland unfortunate to be behind. A few people playing themselves out of Australia game. 

Wonder what England boss Wayne Bennett said to his lads at half time.

Scotland have been composed. The only disappointment has been the penalties but I do worry for them in second half. 

When England found ruck speed Scotland found it very difficult.

Scotland have given away too many penalties. It takes your energy away to put out back-to-back sets.

Good defensive work from Scotland in that first half, but they really need to cut out conceding those silly penalties.

How Matty Russell got that try down is remarkable. The strength he showed was a big factor as well.

He stayed low and had a strong base. Remarkable.
