A line of black shirts make their way forward with the ball.

New Zealand's Shaun Johnson plays an excellent kick through which Blake Ferguson picks up inside his own try line, before evading five Kiwi players to get back to safety.

Superb play which is appreciated by his team-mates.

You have got to take those. Australia don't give you many opportunities and you have got to take those.

Oh dear. It looked like New Zealand were about to sneak back into the game, but centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall takes his eyes off the ball when closing in towards the try line and fluffs his lines.

They really need to take any chance they get in the Australia half.

You have got to be so squeaky clean when you get to tackle four or five.

The crowd can boo Australia all they like, that is the sensible decision from Australia.

    Johnathan Thurston

Easy as you like, Johnathan Thurston pops over the kick from in front of the sticks as Australia edge ahead.

The Kiwis must now score twice to get anything from this match.

Martin Taupau concedes a penalty after rolling Sam Thaiday over in the tackle.

That was great work from Solomone Kata.

It was the first time New Zealand have had three sets in the Australia half consecutively.

Ah, Shaun Johnson has found his kicking boots. About time.

He puts Australia on the back foot with a kick into touch from inside his own 40.

    The Aussies need to regroup.

Now, with the amount of possession Australia have had, this is when it can get dangerous if they start to panic.

There is a lot of smart cookies in that Australia team, let's see how they deal with it.

New Zealand are back in it.

They made their repeat sets count, working the ball to the left edge, where Solomone Kata barged over the try line.

Shaun Johnson misses the kick though.

It is important for New Zealand to get down in Australia's quarter, build upon it and take some energy out of Australia.

New Zealand are forcing the pressure for the first time in this match.

It is a third straight set, can they capitalise?

Australia have made twice as many handling errors as New Zealand (six to three).

If their handling was better, they could have been out of sight in this match already.

I love the way the way the back three of Australia work so hard and shape up to attack straight away.

New Zealand will need a better start in the second half than they got in the first. They are attempting to get forward to work an opening but are struggling to find a way out of their own half.

Australia's Cooper Cronk who is rested today: "I think we played a dominant first half. The forwards did a terrific job shutting down New Zealand and creating quick play.

"I think we had a lot of possession in the first half and that will change at some stage, We have to just complete our sets and build pressure.

"Selfishly I would love to play every game but this team has a lot of depth so I will always stick with the coach's decision."
