    England 6-16 Australia

    John Kear
    Wales coach on BBC One

They are smart. As they lined up at the scrum they put three men on the short side and it was that late change which made it three on two.

There is no stopping the man mountain.

Australia break from the scrum and Greg Inglis sends Jermaine McGillvary back to Huddersfield with a dummy, leaving the big centre with a free run to the tryline.

Does Johnathan Thurston miss the conversion? Of course not.

Left foot, right foot. Johnathan Thurston is the Cristiano Ronaldo or rugby league. Mesmerising play for the Australia number seven and his kick is fumbled by Kallum Watkins. Trouble here...

  4. Postpublished at 43 mins

    England 6-10 Australia

Hooker Josh Hodgson has his ankle twisted after releasing the ball in that previous move, but jumps back onto this feet and is OK to continue.

Tough cookies these rugby league boys.

    England innnnn. Nooooo!

Hooker Josh Hodgson shows brilliant feet to break clear and offloads to skipper Sam Burgess three metres out, but the South Sydney Rabbitoh cannot keep hold of the ball with the tryline gaping in front of him.

England have no hope if they cannot take chances like that.

Stewart Burrows: If Brown and Widdop are the best English 6 and 7 we have major problems. To miss touch once is bad enough but twice is criminal.

Daniel O'Brien: England's kicking game has been poor. No one using their brain and putting it into good places or even into touch! Improvement needed.

  7. 'England have to be patient'published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

    England 6-10 Australia

    Jonathan Davies
Former dual code international on BBC One

England have to be patient, wait and wait until the opportunity comes and then take it, but don't push anything yet.

  8. Postpublished at 42 mins

    England 6-10 Australia

Wayne Bennett's side on the attack in the first half with a driving set forward, but Kevin Brown's kick on the last is oh so poor and Valentine Holmes can gather.

  9. 'Brown influence growing'published at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

    England 6-10 Australia

    Jon Wilkin
Former England international on BBC One

Kevin Brown felt his way into the game, there were a couple of tricky moments but you can see him organising.

  12. Get involvedpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

Edward O'Donnell: Percival has made 3 big errors in the first half, twice dropped the ball almost scoring, and at fault jumping out of the line

robin dickson: This is the most disappointing half of the series. The lack of patience with the ball shows the gaping gulf between the 2 sides

  13. Cheap penalties costly - Hillpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

    England 6-8 Australia

England's Chris Hill: "We've done a lot of good things. given a few cheap penalties away. I think we were probably the best side for the first 30 minutes."

  14. 'Be patient'published at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

    England 6-10 Australia

    Brian Noble
Ex-Great Britain coach on BBC One

We need to play like the Australians. They'll just probe and probe and hope that you'll crack. We've got to play similarly, just be a little more patient and do the little smarts.

  15. 'Australia look ominous'published at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

    England 6-10 Australia

    Jon Wilkin
Former England international on BBC One

England defended the line well. Australia were probing, looking for weaknesses, but the game is defined by little moments. Australia have been composed. The worrying thing for England is that they've done a lot of good things but Australia look ominous.

  16. Smartspublished at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

    England 6-10 Australia

    Paul Fletcher
    BBC Sport at London Stadium

Temperature dropping here but it has been red-hot out on the field. A real Test match.

England are absolutely in this match - but that has happened plenty of times over the years and the Aussies have generally come out on top.

Wayne Bennett has talked about 'smarts' - and said his team need to show them.

Some ill discipline and a failure to find touch TWICE after being awarded a penalty showed there is still plenty of improvement in that area.
