    England 2-2 Australia

Ooh, close Second row Matt Gillett is halted inches away from the tryline.

Australia gain a repeat set and are bashing on the door like an angry dad who has been locked out of his house in the rain...

    England 2-2 Australia

    Jonathan Davies
Former dual code international on BBC One

It is draining for the English players because they've always got to come from inside their own 10m area. Australia are robotic, they'll do the yards, get the right people into the right positions and if the opportunities come they will take them. England have to hang on now.

    England 2-2 Australia

Again, it's Cooper Cronk's clever grubber kick forward which causes panic in the England backline.

Kevin Brown takes it upon himself to dive and push the ball out of play for a goalline dropout, when Mark Percival could have picked the ball up without any problems.

    Will it cost them?

    England 2-2 Australia

Driving runs from Australia in the first four tackles, before Cooper Cronk's kick on the fifth.

It's not rocket science, England know what the opposition are going to do, but the skill and pace that the Aussies do it with makes it so difficult to stop.

  8. PENALTY - England 2-2 Australiapublished at 17 mins

    Johnathan Thurston

    Easy as you like.

North Queensland Cowboy Johnathan Thurston pops over the penalty to level the scores.

    England 2-0 Australia

    Wallop!

Kallum Watkins letting Australia's Cooper Cronk know he is here.

The Leeds Rhinos man wipes out the Melbourne Storm player with a late challenge that sends him spinning and flying through the air.

    England 2-0 Australia

Slick work from England, moving it quickly from right to left, but Mark Percival shells the ball as he closes in on the tryline.

To be fair, the pass from full-back Jonny Lomax was not the best.

England's best attacking move in the match thus far.

  11. Postpublished at 13 mins

    England 2-0 Australia

Skipper Sam Burgess has seen plenty of the ball in the opening stages and is making metres up field.

With the poor kicking game, you would feel his running will be crucial for England.

It's the sign of a Wayne Bennett team, he likes to take any points on offer. They'll be delighted. The field position has gone Australia's way, but England have been knocking the sets out. They'll be happy about that.

    England 2-0 Australia

    Paul Fletcher
    BBC Sport at London Stadium

People continue to make their way in - and the crowd are obviously desperate to get behind the home team.

A big cheer greeted Widdop's penalty but England have made a very poor start to their kicking game and need to improve that.

There is near silence when Australia have possession.

  14. PENALTY - England 2-0 Australiapublished at 11 mins

    Gareth Widdop

Wayne Bennett's side gain a penalty 20 metres out after messing around at the ruck by Australia.

It is popped over from the centre of the pitch by Gareth Widdop for the first points of the game.

They have not played well, but lead. Old Benno won't mind that.

    England 0-0 Australia

It takes four England defenders to stop Australia centre Greg Inglis - with tree trunks for legs - a couple metres short of the tryline.

From the fifth tackle kick by Cooper Cronk, England centre Mark Percival rises magnificently to pluck the ball out of the air.

Brilliant from the St Helens man.

    England 0-0 Australia

    Jon Wilkin
Former England international on BBC One

The most interesting thing today is that the two sides coming at it from a different point. Australia are confident. Australia have a lot of experience in key decision-making positions and that's where their strength lies.

England are trying to form combinations on the run. James Graham brings an extra dimension.

    England 0-0 Australia

The crowd are on their feet and find their voices for the first time as Jermaine McGillvary makes a half-break but is halted by the Australia backline.

Another awful kick, this time from Kevin Brown, straight into the hands of full-back Darius Body.

England are getting nothing out of this game if this continues.

    England 0-0 Australia

    Justin Morgan
New Zealand assistant coach and former Hull KR boss

I think Australia will be confident, I don't think they'll be relaxed. I think it'll be a close, tough game and for my sake, and the Kiwis' sake, I hope the Aussies win.

    England 0-0 Australia

Poor kicking from England so far. They get a penalty after Australia are caught offside and Gareth Widdop fails to find touch with his boot.

    Unforgivable.

In the following attack, Darius Boyd chucks the ball out of play when trying to find Blake Ferguson.
