Salford's upward curve continuespublished at 22:10 British Summer Time 15 June 2017
FT: Salford 30-6 Wakefield
Salford make their first semi-final in 19 years and it's a huge fillip to head coach Ian Watson that he has delivered a big event to the club.
Just 80 minutes separate the Red Devils from Wembley now, but holding onto their challenge on both league and cup fronts will be a test of squad depth and character for the next six weeks.
Wakefield's cup run comes to an end but there's still plenty to play for in Super League, and they will be hopeful that their absentees return to fitness sooner rather than later.
Not a bad way to kick off the quarter finals eh? Join us across the weekend for the rest of the ties to see who will join the Red Devils in the final four.
Until then, good night.
