Australia 10-4 England
Better from England, got to the 20 on the last and a kick keeps Australia in their own end.
There are some big runners in that Australia team though, they make big metres clearing their lines.

There's a result....
Australia 10-4 England
Two full-backs, two errors, too bad.
Billy Slater stands at first receiver off the scrum and drops the simple pass unopposed, handing the ball straight back to England. Phew.
Australia 10-4 England
England coach Wayne Bennett did say the World Cup won't won in week one... good job at the moment.
Jonny Lomax went up for a kick and switched off, watching agonisingly as the ball bounced off his chest and away. Thankfully for him it went out of touch.
Australia scrum, 10 away. Danger for England...
Australia 10-4 England
England head back out, refreshed with new, crisp white and red shirts. Will it turn the tide in the second half?
Australia will get first dibs on the ball, as Luke Gale pumps it down field. 40 to go.

We just need to get some dominance - we have been in their 20-metre area and scored points. We need to get back down there.

Let's have a look at the stats.
England have completed 14 sets, with four incomplete compared to Australia's 17 completed sets and five incomplete.
The Roos have had 55% of possession, less than the flow of game feels to be fair.
Metres are a key indicator, and the Aussies are dominating that too. 1072 metres to England's 812.
Only one stat really matters though at the end of the day, and that is Australia lead at half-time by 10-4. Second half not far away.

Seoras Lyall: England started well but Australia came on very strong in the first half and richly deserve their 10-4 lead. #bbcrl, external#RLWC2017, external

The key thing is England playing composed, controlled rugby league. When they do that, they can score, like they did when they scored their try.

England have had to do so much goaline defence and the way they have handled that is a huge positive. Australia have been far in front in the final plays. They are kicking the ball so far up the field.
Cameron Smith's dominance from nine is brilliant, they have so much variety in their game.
Momentum is massive at this level, when you get into an arm wrestle with them, we need something special to break it down.
Half-time is good for England, regroup, get the key messages out and go again.
Seems like a long time ago now - but Jermaine McGillvary did give England the lead in this match after England stretched the Aussies early on.

OnePointDrop: McGillvary been immense first half. Australia slowing down every play, would there have been a few more penalties if this were SL game #bbcrl, external
Andrew Humphrey: 22 missed tackles but some vital ones made too. Can't do this for another 40 surely. Kicking game HAS to improve quickly too.
Andy Thomas: Dominant first half for #AUS, external, a lot of missed tackles but #ENG, external by no means out of it looking at the scoreline #RLWC2017, external#AUSvENG, external#BBCRL, external

Here's the moment where Matt Gillett crossed to put Australia level, before Cameron Smith's successful conversion put them in front.
Some controlled skill there.

Both teams have come up with some errors but Australia have made more clean breaks because of the possession they have had - I think it is six-one in their favour.
Australia 10-4 England
England, a bit like a boxer staggering to their corner after a bruising round, are still in it despite Australia having landed some savage blows in that dominant first half display.
They went ahead through Jermaine McGillvary's score, but tries from Matt Gillett and Billy Slater have swung the scoreline the way of the game.
Defence has been key. England need Sam Burgess to show his fitness and to get some field position. Otherwise, they might not be walking back to their corner come 80 minutes...
Australia 10-4 England
Outside, inside play slices England wide open before Billy Slater is lassoed.
Then Jermaine McGillvary claws a certain try out of the air to stop another Kangaroos score. It's damage limitation in the final seconds of the half.

That is an outstanding leap in the air - especially in an area that is famous for Aussie Rules.
Wayne will be looking for his team to be more meticulous and work out how to get out of their half because Australia's defence has been very good.
