England 26-6 France
England full-back Gareth Widdop, speaking at half-time: "We certainly got off to a good start. In the last five or 10 minutes we've given some penalties away.

Watching the French performance in this World Cup, one has to ask the question what good has all the money invested in Catalans Dragons being in Super League, done for French International Rugby League?
Peter Wroe, Featherstone
England 26-6 France
George Williams is on for Luke Gale, and he bounces out of a tackle to keep England moving forwards.
England keep France pinned 25 metres from their own line, before Theo Fages looks to dink a kick beyond the England line.
That's the hooter. And that's England 20 points to the good at the break.

They've had a scruffy five minutes, England, on the back of the French having a little more enthusiasm.
That's the kind of thing Wayne Bennett is trying to eliminate from this team.
England 26-6 France
It was all going swimmingly for England, but France have grown in confidence a little towards the end of this half.
They trade sets, and Lucas Albert finds the corner with a well-placed quick as France complete another.
England's fourth try came from St Helens centre Mark Percival. If you missed it, here it is....

The England players will be bitterly disappointed with that. As a team you've got to be prepared to clean up. Garcia threw an outrageous dummy and it ended up being a one-on-one.

The threat is from the person with the ball.
England looked left, they looked right, but they didn't look at the person with the ball.
It's nice to see France get some rewards at that end of the park. They've barely been there in this game. It'll give them a bit of a break- a bit more air in their lungs and confidence in their roles.
Benjamin Garcia (34 mins)
A couple of mistakes in quick succession cost England.
Jermaine McGillvary's knock on was followed by a penalty against Wayne Bennett's side, and France make them pay.
Benjamin Garcia scoops up from dummy half, pirouettes in front of the posts to send England's defence sprawling one way and just darts through the gap to touch down between the sticks.

It's those little things that invite the wolf to the door if you're playing against the big teams.
England 26-0 France
First mistake from Jermaine McGillvary, he drops a kick under no pressure whatsoever.
Wayne Bennett will be noting those down.

There's got to be enough centres in England for them not to have to pick Bateman there.
I'm not being critical of Bateman. He's an outstanding player, but he's a back-rower.
The guy sorting out our in-game clips is having a very busy time of it right now.
James Graham picked up the ball 10 metres out from the line and managed to power over to make it 18-0 for England. That was after eight minutes.

They created a two-on-one on the edge. That's Luke Gale, and his vision. Plenty of opportunities on the fringes for England now. Spaces are opening up.
John Bateman (28 mins)
It's another for England, and this time John Bateman is the beneficiary.
Kevin Brown was held after he was tackled in front of the sticks, and England make the most of another set.
Alex Walmsley takes the first hit, but it's whipped wide through Luke Gale and Bateman, with Stefan Ratchford outside him, opts to step inside and go himself instead.
Bateman scored but was the pass to his winger, in loads of space, the better option?
He dives over, but Gareth Widdop can't find the target from the conversion.
England 22-0 France
That's high into the Perth sky from Lucas Albert, but Gareth Widdop takes it superbly with a diving catch.
France are pulled up for offside, and England take the opportunity to gain some good ground.
Alex Walmsley gets his first touch of the ball, and it takes about three French tacklers to stop him.

Mike Haigh: Widdop fits into the side do much better from 1. Great platform from Gale and Brown. Glad for Percival to get over.
England 22-0 France
James Graham and Chris Hill come off for a rest, now France just have to contend with Tom Burgess and Alex Walmsley instead...

England look dangerous with the ball in hand. Every time they go forward they look as if they could score.
