CONVERTED TRY - England 12-0 Francepublished at 6 mins

    Stefan Ratchford (6 mins)

Not much doubt about that one, Stefan Ratchford - starting on the wing today - pops up wide out after a move that crossed the width of the pitch through England hands for the Warrington man to ground in the corner.

Cracking conversion from Gareth Widdop to add the extra points.

  2. 'That's a try'published at 10:19 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2017

    England 6-0 France

    Ian Millward
Former St Helens coach on BBC Two

That's a try. He doesn't lose control of the ball. There's no separation of the hands. It's exaggerated by the way the ball hits the ground.

  3. TRY REVIEWpublished at 6 mins

    England 6-0 France

Swift hands from England as they fling the ball left and Stefan Ratchford thinks he's in at the corner.

  4. Postpublished at 5 mins

    England 6-0 France

That's the start England were after, and they are nearly in again.

A high ball is completely missed by Ilias Bergal and Luke Gale picks up, only to be stopped by the referee!

James Graham is calling for an "eight-point try". I think he is joking but you can never tell.

A great start for England with and without the ball.

It was great to see Gale running. In the last couple of weeks, he's been very structured and very mechanical.

You want to see a half-back pose a threat to the line.

A knock on from France in the tackle gives James Roby a chance to try and pick a way through the defence for the first time.

England work it left from there through Kevin Brown and Luke Gale, and there's Gareth Widdop popping up to join the line from full-back to scorch through a huge gap in the France defence from 20 metres out.

He touches down, and then adds the extras.

Super strength and a teriffic carry there from Mike McMeeken.

  10. 'England bench big and powerful'published at 10:13 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2017

    England 0-0 France

    Ian Millward
Former St Helens coach on BBC Two

France have started very physical. That's been their trademark in this tournament, then they wilt in the second half.

The bench for England is very big and powerful, and it's got the skill of Alex Walmsley on top of that.

    England 0-0 France

Big first drive of the game from James Graham, but Ben Currie gets driven back about 15 metres on the second tackle.

The French have come out up for this one.

Mike McMeeken then runs full pelt into Jason Baitieri and it looks like the France forward took the brunt of McMeeken's power on his head, he's coming off.

    Jonathan Davies

France are average. They don't have any stand-out players.

But in the first 20 minutes, they'll give it everything.

It is about not making errors. We will play with a freedom today and we will deliver.

  20. 'We have to be mistake-free'published at 10:02 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2017

    England v France (10:00 GMT)

Here's England head coach Wayne Bennett: "We have to play better than last week.

"I want to give everyone an opportunity to play before the quarter-finals, after today, everyone will have had a game and that is important mentally.

"I said to my players we have to be mistake-free as much as we can. That is our Achilles heel, making mistakes and giving away poor penalties."
