  1. TRY REVIEWpublished at 41 mins

    St Helens 3-2 Warrington

    Teasing kick... fumbled by Warrington.

Luke Douglas chases it down... is it a try?

  2. Postpublished at 41 mins

    St Helens 3-2 Warrington

To be fair, Stefan Ratchford didn't help his teammate by failing to gather the awkwardly-dipping kick-off.

Saints grinding away close in. Mark Percival just held out...

  3. Kick-offpublished at 40 mins

    St Helens 3-2 Warrington

Forty minutes of rough and tumble to go.

Saints boot it down field, Tom Lineham has flicked it dead with the boot and now... it's a goal line drop out.

Horrific error to kick off the second-half.

One team with designs on being part of this end-of-season Super League jamboree in the coming years are Toronto Wolfpack, whose stratospheric rise is yet to be checked.

Fewer than two years into their existence and the Canadians are just 80 minutes from booking their place in the top tier, facing London Broncos in the Million Pound Game on Sunday.

BBC Sport looks at the emergence of the 'Pack, and the revival of the Broncos under their head coach Danny Ward.

    Expansion 'Pack or capital gain?

Super League gains either a team from Toronto or a team from London in 2019, after Sunday's Million Pound Game showdown.

Phil: Ferocious first half between Saints and Wolves. The line speed of both teams has been immense. Think Saints will take it though.

Kyle: The longer Warrington are in this game, either within a score or ahead, the more they will feel they can cause an upset here and maybe Saints may feel the pressure. Especially after losing their previous three semi finals to get to the grand final.

Seven players from League Leaders' Shield winners St Helens are named in Super League's Dream Team for the 2018 season.

Warrington Wolves, who reached the Challenge Cup final and finished in the top four, have none... nor for that matter do fellow semi-finalists Castleford Tigers.

Personally, I voted for the Wire's Kevin Brown and Mike Cooper, plus Tigers lock Adam Milner - none of whom made it obviously.

    HT: St Helens 3-2 Warrington

St Helens have a one-point lead at the break, and their upturn in an mistake-filled opening 40 could be pinpointed to the moment when captain James Roby entered the fray.

The England international is going to miss the autumn series against New Zealand to undergo surgery, and perhaps that was in Justin Holbrook's mind when he left him on the bench.

However, his go-forward, selection of pass and run has given Saints a more potent edge.

He has shaded the battle with his opposite number Daryl Clark.

We might have a scoreline more accustomed to the North West Counties League but the excitement level has been Premier League, even if the quality wasn't outstanding.

No tries are a testament to errors and some rock-solid defence.

It sets up an intriguing second-half doesn't it?!

    St Helens 3-2 Warrington

Saints unload again on the Warrington line, but to borrow a boxing analogy, the guard was up high, and no punches found their target.

It's still cagey, tense and stomach churning... oh a 40-20 by Warrington! Ah it's been fluffed as soon as it was taken...

  11. DROP-GOAL: St Helens 3-2 Warringtonpublished at 37 mins

    Danny Richardson

Well, it was coming. Saints went up the other end and forced their way into position centre-field.

Danny Richardson had time to pour himself a pint, but chose a little more wisely to stroke over a drop goal instead.

    One-point lead.

That is the ugliest last play that you will see in rugby league for a long time.

Stefan Ratchford has missed a pot at a drop goal! Still we sit level.

Whenever either side makes a line-break or even a half-break... the opposition scrambles, pouring from everywhere.

    Credit to both sides.

Josh Charnley, Tommy Makinson, Tom Lineham, Regan Grace, Mark Percival (pictured), Bryson Goodwin. All prolific. All unable to break the try-scoring deadlock here.

How is it still 2-2? Six minutes to the break. I'm not going anywhere.

They survive again. but they are hanging on by the skin of their teeth.

If Warrington can make it to half-time with just two points scored against them, then they can take huge confidence from that. But they are just holding on.

It looked for all money that Warrington were going to succumb there as Saints rapped on the door like impatient bailiffs, but again they ran aground.

Big D from the Wire, but Saints are the side who have had the most possession in the past 10 minutes.

    St Helens 2-2 Warrington

Saints crashing away like waves on a shore but they cannot find their through.

Stefan Ratchford with a trysaver on Luke Thompson. There was a kg deficit there but he put his body in the way. Bravery in spades.

Meanwhile, Saints schemer Danny Richardson has picked up a knock. Worrying signs, there's no stand-in.

Another Warrington error gives Saints another chance. The pendulum might just be swinging their way.

    STILL ONLY FOUR POINTS?!??

    St Helens 2-2 Warrington

James Roby's last tackle kick almost on the Warrington line is knocked on by Daryl Clark. Huge error.

It's given Saints a platform to attack from the scrum. They could have scored before but Tommy Makinson failed to make the best of the line-break.

    Phew, suck in that oxygen.

When Ben Barba heads back to Australia, I hope he tells people just how tough our game can be as this has been high-octane, full-pelt action.

We might lack the execution of the NRL clubs but it's anything but sterile.

Some high tackles going in as the pace starts to tell perhaps. Ryan Morgan spills some claret and is bandaged. We're staying as we are.

Saints penalty, ball clubbed to touch. Here we go again.

More heavy artillery ripping in as Luke Thompson and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook launch a raid.
