    FT: Catalans 10-12 St Helens

Now, a moment to talk about Catalans. Let's not forget what they've achieved this season and last.

Steve McNamara has carried on his fine work at the club and led them to a well-deserved League Leaders' Shield.

And a first Super League Grand Final against the backdrop of the financial uncertainty of the coronavirus and being forced to play most of their matches for the past two seasons away from their Stade Gilbert Brutus home.

They've given one massive battle for the past 18 months and against St Helens tonight.

Sam Tomkins is furious as Catalans are penalised for an incorrect play the ball.

Whether or not he's right and that's the correct decision, Catalans just look off the pace in these last moments and surely St Helens' three-peat is on.

Tom Davies has knocked on from a huge Lachlan Coote kick and that's gone in to touch inside Catalans' 10.

That, surely, has tipped the game into St Helens' favour.

Saints get their set of six right in front of the posts and they've got time on their hands.

Saints have taken their chances. Will Catalans get one more? I have a feeling they will. It's whether they'll have the execution to take it.

What a waste. A wayward pass from Catalans towards Sam Tomkins on the wing is too tame.

Jack Welsby puts in a huge tackle and the ball bounces out of the Dragons' grasp.

St Helens win back possession and, in these final stages, that could be decisive. Was that the last chance Catalans will get here?

Desperate stuff from Saints. Desperate from Catalans too.

Mark Percival sheepishly concedes another goal line drop out as Catalans kick on the last tackle.

St Helens need to watch out here, they look nervous every time Catalans come at them.

Blimey. St Helens concede a goal line drop out at right at the death courtesy of Tommy Makinson punting the ball out in-goal before Catalans can work onto it.

The Dragons gain ground from the restart and Sam Tomkins almost finds a way through before he slips on the greasy Old Trafford surface.

Alex Walmsley knocks on in the midst of a brick wall in the form of Gil Dudson.

Catalans have the ball back just behind halfway and a huge set of six to go.

Some caution to any thoughts that St Helens are home and dry, here.

Let's not forget Catalans' incredible comeback against Saints at the Magic Weekend.

That frantic final 10 minutes for the Dragons won them the League Leaders' Shield. Can they replicate that tonight and win this Super League Grand Final?

    Sucker punch for the Dragons.

But we've still got 13 minutes to go. Plenty of time to get back into this.

We've got a break in play before the conversion attempt as Kevin Naiqama receives some treatment to the back of his head.

The St Helens try-scorer signals he's okay and he's sat up. It would appear Fouad Yaha got the better of him after he crossed over.

That was a kick of ultimate precision. The in-goal areas are really narrow at Old Trafford so any kick has to be perfect.

Saints have upped the gears in the past 10 minutes.
