    Catalans 2-6 St Helens

Catalans work it wide and keep the ball alive. The Dragons win another set of six and look to take the game to St Helens.

They win a penalty right in front of the sticks and opt to go for the two rather than go for what could be a pivotal try.

They've got them on the ropes here Catalans. There's a real chance of points.

Sam Kasiano goes in to receive a St Helens tackle but he spills the ball in the process and Saints win possession back.

However, soon after St Helens cheaply give away the ball back to Catalans and the Dragons find themselves 10 metres out with six tackles remaining.

Fouad Yaha looks to run in at the corner but Morgan Knowles scrambles to spare Saints' blushes.

Sam Tomkins came into this game having not played for three weeks and not trained ahead of this Super League Grand Final.

At the minute, he's not had much say in the flow of this game and St Helens certainly look like they're taking control heading past the halfway stage of this first period.

Work to do for the Dragons, for sure.

For 20 minutes, this is as close to being as one-sided a Grand Final as I've seen.

The Dragons have been pushed and pulled and battered down the middle. They must be praying for Alex Walmsley to go off.

Catalans are losing their grasp on this game, they are playing towards their fans in the East Stand and need to get something going in the attacking end of the pitch.

At the moment, their fans are rather silent and those yellow and red flags have long since been put away.

    I don't think it's anything more than a penalty.

Catalans once again give away a cheap penalty, this time for a hand in from Mike McMeeken right as Sione Mata'utia was about to get St Helens going once more.

Saints work it from just behind halfway this time and Ben Garcia soon puts in a high tackle on Jonny Lomax.

    Ouch.

Samisoni Langi wins some significant ground deep in the St Helens half as Catalans quickly work an attack.

They kick it on the last as they try to keep the pressure on Saints but they collect the ball well and are quickly penalised for offside after St Helens get going.

    It's a frantic game, this.

Regan Grace grounds the ball as St Helens kick chase a loose ball, but it's held up for a knock on in the build-up.

It's a game of fine margins, this. Catalans looked confident that wouldn't be their opponents' second try of the game.

Catalans just need to be a little bit better at staying in possession when they get into St Helens' half.

They keep giving the ball back. It's something they'll need to improve on.

It's been coming, hasn't it? Down that right edge they've had glimpses of opportunities.

Third time lucky, Kevin Naiqama puts in a great step, it's a super try.

Catalans were just a little too eager in defence.

St Helens get the first try of the game and it comes via some sensational work from Kevin Naiqama.

In his final game for Saints, he wrongfoots the Catalans defence and carves a path through to the line.

He still has it all to do as he gets over the line as he's held up by a number of Dragons bodies, but he twists around to ground the ball with a terrific finish.

Lachlan Coote, also in his final Saints game, misses the extras.
