Tommy Makinson, on his right foot on the left-hand side of the field virtually in touch, absolutely nails a perfect kick to add the two.

    Wigan 14-0 St Helens

Back under way at Elland Road.

St Helens came out well before Wigan who were making their opponents wait for their appearance from the tunnel.

Bit of mind games going on there, do you think?

    Kevin Brown
Former England international half-back on BBC One

Wigan are a fantastic defensive side but St Helens have looked predictable. Wherever Jonny Lomax and Jack Welsby are, that's where the play is going.

And their kicking game has been poor so far.

Chris Birchall: Say this through gritted teeth but Liam Farrell is absolute class..

Mike Gallagher: Going to say it now, Wigan will beat these men by at least 30 points. Can't see where Saints will score.

    Jamie Jones-Buchanan
Former Leeds Rhinos second-rower on BBC One

The spine of the St Helens team looks very disjointed to me. They've shoe-horned in a couple of players to get them in the side and that has made them really clunky in offence.

Wigan have had a lot of broken play and have got down the field through Bevan French and that has meant Saints have been scrambling for much of the first half.

A brilliant half from Wigan, very clinical and solid defence.

Saints have not been as smooth as we usually see them. They need to look at their offence because Wigan have been comfortable.

    Wigan 14-0 St Helens

Well that was a first half to remember.

Wigan look comfortable. St Helens look like a side short of answers.

Liam Marshall, Cade Cust and Liam Farrell's tries have given them a decent cushion, but can Saints work their way back into this one?

The half-time hooter might be just what Kristian Woolf's side need as he side's defence of the trophy looks set to come to a pretty listless end.

Wigan have been excellent in this first half and St Helens have a few wrongs to rectify.

There's a sizeable amount of St Helens fans in attendance as they're urging their side on.

On the last, they kick it wide but Liam Marshall deals with the danger before Tommy Makinson can collect and run in at the corner.

Just a few minutes left of the first half. They could do with getting off the mark, here.

Mark Percival receives a kick on the last from Jonny Lomax as St Helens try to make a breakthrough.

It takes three Wigan players to bring him down and stop him from going over.

This is a hugely exciting game and it's got an atmosphere to match.

Kerron Cross: What a TRY that is from Liam Farrell. Used the ref as cover, which obstructed the defence nicely! Perfectly legal if it’s not your own player!

Robin: Wigan Warriors are playing very astute rugby. They’re making St Helens look amateurish at times!

Char: Was expecting an explosive semi-final...

What a try! Those St Helens middles are pretty tired. They've played 10 minutes with 12 men and Liam Farrell took full advantage. He went against the grain anad melted through the St Helens defence.

Cade Cust receives possession from the restart with his foot in touch and Wigan win a penalty on halfway.

This just gets worse for St Helens.

    Liam Farrell, goal Harry Smith

Bevan French is absolutely electric when he gets hold of the ball for Wigan this afternoon.

He does well on the wing and it's crossed over into the path of Liam Farrell who weaves his way through under the posts as Jonny Lomax slips in the process of trying to stop him.

Wigan in dreamland. St Helens are all over the place.

Harry Smith kicks successfully this time. Wigan are 14-0 up and are coasting.

    Wigan 8-0 St Helens

Joe Batchelor has returned to the field following his yellow card for St Helens.

Now Saints are back up to full strength, the question is, can they work some magic before the half-time hooter?
