Chris Hill is helped down the tunnel with ice wrapped to the back of his left calf.

Doesn't look good for the Huddersfield man. His afternoon is surely over.

Huddersfield are awarded a set restart with a minute left on the clock. They pounce forward but Wigan win the ball back soon after.

Wigan win a penalty on their 40-metre mark and kick in to touch before the hooter is sounded.

They can't make their attack stick before the first half comes to an end. It's all going to plan for Huddersfield so far. Maybe not for Wigan..

After losing Chris Hill and conceding Wigan's first try, credit to Huddersfield who've not sat back.

Jermaine McGillvary just about gets away with leaving a Wigan kick to goal before Liam Marshall can touch down at the other end.

Oof hello. This is a sumptuous try.

Chris McQueen collects the ball and dummies not once but twice as he shimmies his way into crossing over for Huddersfield's second try of the game.

Tui Lolohea misses the extras again, this time kicking across the face of the posts.

A well-fought final is finely poised and all the talk before kick-off was about Jai Field.

But the Wigan full-back is yet to get into the game - is he biding his time or being well shackled by the Giants?

    Huddersfield 6-6 Wigan

Soon after the restart, Wigan make another error which allows Huddersfield to get within inches of the try-line again.

The Giants keep it alive as Wigan deny chance after chance, leading to a last-ditch Tui Lolohea kick which the Cherry and Whites collect.

He gets hit by two defenders Morgan Smithies, and just gets the arm free. Everyone is in support these days, and there's Harry Smith. What a pass that is!

    Harry Smith, goal Harry Smith

Wigan make another attack as they look to regain some ground in a first half which has drifted away from them so far.

They force Huddersfield into conceding a goal-line drop-out. Tui Lolohea sends a short kick and Wigan attack once more.

Eventually Harry Smith goes over from a Morgan Smithies offload and Wigan are back in this game!

He then swiftly levels it up with a perfect kick.

    Huddersfield 6-0 Wigan

Jai Field picks up the ball inside the Huddersfield 10 as Wigan make their first attack in a good while.

He's well tackled on the fifth tackle and Wigan send a kick in to the near-side corner, but it's well collected by the Giants.

    Still not happening for Wigan.

Not good news for Huddersfield. They're signalling for an interchange as Chris Hill goes down injured.

The physio was signalling for a good while before referee James Child brought the game to a halt.

Hill's being helped from the field and looks in some discomfort.

That was the third or fourth set on Wigan's line. If you give Ricky Leutele a one-on-one opportunity, he's going to execute.

    Ricky Leutele

This has been coming. Too many errors from Wigan, the latest of which led to a scrum...which then led to Huddersfield's first try.

Huddersfield work it wide, Ricky Leutele gets on the end of it on the left wing and runs in at the corner with ease.

Tui Lolohea sends his kick low and it cannons off the left-hand upright. Six-point game.

    Huddersfield 2-0 Wigan

Great defence from Wigan to organise their back line and keep Huddersfield out after they won a set of six within 20 metres.

They win possession back on the turnover but moments later concede an error and all of a sudden Huddersfield have the ball back from a scrum.

    Huddersfield 2-0 Wigan

Chris Hill gets the ball down and he's about an inch away from the try-line.

But he's held up for a forward pass in the build up to Huddersfield putting the pressure on Wigan yet again.

41% of the action so far has been deep in Wigan's half of the field. Telling.

Oliver Russell is the latest Huddersfield player to make a race towards Wigan's in-goal area.

This time he gets in behind the Wigan defence before the Cherry and Whites hastily bat the ball dead.

Wigan look a bit off the pace in these first few minutes.

Trying to get on the outside of Bevan French is difficult. You've got to step inside, especially on the first tackle.

    Huddersfield 2-0 Wigan

Wigan kick on the turnover from Harry Smith and he gets lucky as Huddersfield's Tui Lolohea leaves it.

The ball then bounces back towards Wigan who regain it but John Bateman's penalised for offside.
