    St Helens 12-0 Leeds

Better from Leeds. That's a couple of sets now where they've put pressure on the Saints defence and turned the ball over near the champions' try line.

But can they get some points on the board before half-time? At the moment St Helens are holding firm.

    Millimetres that one!

I think the Leeds fans thought he had scored.

Leeds are now flying into Saints.

They’ve got that aggressive line speed at last.

St Helens then concede a penalty just over 30m out from their own line. Richie Myler darts for the line but is dragged down just short.

Then three Saints defenders wrap up Liam Sutcliffe on the try line to keep him out.

    Massive defence from the champions.

    St Helens 12-0 Leeds

A St Helens knock-on means Leeds will get to start a set near halfway. It's the best field position they have had for a while. Can they make it count?

    St Helens 12-0 Leeds

Leeds are struggling to end their sets in a position to really pressurise Saints.

At the other end, it's the Rhinos' scramble defence that is keeping them in the game.

Tommy Makinson retrieves a high kick just yards from the Leeds line and recycles the ball, but there are enough blue shirts to stop the Saints in their tracks.

But yet again Leeds will start a set near their own line.

St Helens are attacking well, there’s two points of attack, lots of people in motion and lots of options.

They are asking a lot of questions of the Leeds defence.

They really try to take the sting out of any team early doors. It’s fantastic to watch.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that tackle from Rhyse Martin, to be honest.

In fact if Leeds have got under St Helens' skin then that's exactly what they'll want.

That being said, missed penalty or not, 12 points is a fair old deficit to overturn.

Fisticuffs! Tempers flare as Rhyse Martin tackles Jonny Lomax 30m out, but lifts him up into the air and dumps him on his back.

Saints players pile in and referee Liam Moore awards the champions a penalty.

Tommy Makinson is going to go for the two points.

I thought he was over! Boy he went close!

That was a 100m set from St Helens from Leeds having the ball.

They need to help themselves a bit here Leeds.

Things aren't quite going to plan for Leeds at the moment. Another promising attack ends with Tom Briscoe hacking the ball behind and out of play as he ran out of space.

Saints go straight up the other end and Konrad Hurrell is inches away from another try. The big centre is forced out of play in the right corner by some desperate Leeds defending.

Saints' pressure forces Leeds to concede a goalline drop-out and those blue shirts are made to defend again.

And defend they do until Jonny Lomax lets them off the hook with a routine drop of the ball.

Leeds then earn a penalty which allows them to take a breather.

If you'd have told me that St Helens would have built a 12-0 lead inside 20 minutes of this Grand Final given how far they were pushed in last week's semi-final, I'm not sure I would have believed you.

But then you can't really write them off, can you?

Don't write off Leeds, however. Captain Kruise Leeming told BBC Radio Leeds earlier this week that Rohan Smith has drilled some incredible belief into his side since his arrival in April.

You don't win 11 from 13 and get to a Grand Final from a fifth-placed finish, you know.

St Helens are relentless at the moment. They want to add to their lead.

They're making big yards in every set and Leeds are having to dig deep to stay in this.

    St Helens 12-0 Leeds

    Francis Cummins
Ex-Leeds player & assistant coach, BBC Radio Leeds

Leeds have had three opportunities down the Saints end and made three errors.

They defended the set well but they trickled the ball in behind and have come up with a try.

In Leeds' last passage of the season they’ve kept teams in the arm wrestle and put teams under pressure but Saints have got off to flyer.

It’s a really important passage of the game now. You feel Saints are in the ascendency.

It's try time for Jon Bennison - who scored the winning try against Salford last weekend in the semi-final.

The youngster showed great bravery to dive in and get his fingers on the ball in the left corner following a perfectly-weighted grubber kick by Jack Welsby.

    St Helens 6-0 Leeds

    Francis Cummins
Ex-Leeds player & assistant coach, BBC Radio Leeds

Leeds were getting drowned at the start, they couldn’t get out of their own half.

The character of the team is great but that was an unforced error and if you want to put teams like Saints under pressure you have to keep hold of that and have a few more players down their end.
