Billy Twelvetrees crosses the tryline, but there will be no England celebrations as Alex Goode knocked forward after being flattened in the tackle.
England performing as if they're a little punch drunk, those two Yoann Huget tries acting as two thunderous blows, but they are at least gathering momentum. Alex Goode, by the way, is now on permanently for the injured Jonny May.

"Stuart Lancaster is not happy and nor should he. His England side are under pressure and are making self-inflicted mistakes. The French are out-thinking their opponents."
Rossa Brugha:, external England bad. France good. Nigel Owens great.
Pill.i.am:, external Nigel Owens is world class! A ref totally in control of the game!

England collapse in the scrum and it's another short, sharp shrill from Nigel Owens' whistle. Jean-Marc Doussain hits it true to extend his team's advantage. Interesting times ahead.
Wesley Fofana chases Jules Plisson's up-and-under but a nerveless Alex Goode gathers. The camera focuses its lens on Jonny May who is looking on from the sidelines. The winger, nose bloodied and patched up, looks as if he's been in a bout with a heavyweight boxer.
Nigel Owens asks the video referee "have a look at what caused that" and by that he means a bit of a kerfuffle after a possible late tackle on Jules Plisson. The referee decides the tackle was fair but does tell the players that he will not tolerate any diva-like antics. "It doesn't look good," says the Welshman.

"That all came about from from France doing the right thing from the turnover ball and because Goode was unable to put Huget down on the floor."

"That's the second time England have been undone by the bounce of a ball after a kick ahead. Goode was undone when England looked to have it covered, and Huget just dropped over the line. The ball bounced between Goode and Nowell, they both could have taken it but neither did and by the time it was bounced a lack of communication had done for them both."
France turn over ball and the hosts look far more threatening with the ball in hand. The decibels rise inside the Stade de France as the hosts spin it wide. Yoann Huget side-steps Alex Goode, feeds Brice Dulin who kicks ahead and the ball bounces kindly for the clinical French winger. Goode and Jack Nowell can just simply watch the ball bounce over their heads and into Huget's hands.
England's forwards drive from the line-out... one by one blue-shirted defenders fall to the ground... Owen Farrell uses an old rugby league ploy and kicks towards the opposite touchline but Brice Dulin is firm under pressure from the onrushing Jack Nowell.
England gain turnover ball but Billy Twelvetrees kicks ahead despite having three team-mates on his outside. Tunnel vision from the centre, though the visitors do have a line-out in enemy territory.
Henry King:, external Already hard to watch...
Fiona Tait:, external What is going on? England, get a grip!

"We're 13 minutes in and the game is all about territory. England currently find themselves defending a lot inside their own 22."
End-to-end stuff as England this time recycle possession and gradually make their way into the French 22. France, though, are dangerous on the counter-attack and their ploy is to turn defence into attack as quickly as possible by kicking ahead and forcing the visitors to turn on their heels.
France happy to move forward inch by inch before the ball makes its way to Jules Plisson. The debutant attempts the grubber but it lacks an element of surprise. Worry not, though, Les Bleus because Nigel Owens calls the players back and up steps Jean-Marc Doussain who kicks over the penalty.

"England's scrambled defence just about working there, but they've been found out twice and we're only eight minutes into the game."
France finding holes in England's defence once again with the diagonal kick but the visitors' scrambled defence somehow holds firm. A change of personnel for England with Alex Goode coming on for Jonny May as a blood replacement.

"A tremendous response from England, but the French defence is so powerful. Jack Nowell, who dropped that England kick-off, has responded brilliantly, playing not as a traditional winger but all over the place.
"Farrell missed the most kicks of any player in last year's Six Nations, so to have got that through the posts and to have sealed those crucial points away from home in Paris is vital."
Billy Vunipola coolly collects the re-start but Billy Twelvetrees isn't as assured with ball in hand. Referee Nigel Owens says the ball went backwards but England are in trouble once again...
