Leinster full-back Rob Kearney, who will be making his 150th appearance, will be playing in his eighth final since joining the province in 2005, He points out that it would be a great achievement to win in what he considers to be a transitional season for Leinster that started with the departure of several long-serving players and the introduction of some youngsters.

Leinster coach Matt O'Connor is looking to complete a pretty unique double. The Australian former rugby league player led Leicester Tigers to the English Premiership title before taking charge in Dublin and now he has the chance to lift the Pro12 title in his first season in charge.

Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said yesterday it would not only be a boost for his club but for Scottish rugby and Scottish sport if they could win in Dublin. It would certainly help with the feel-good factor surrounding the national football team under Gordon Strachan and the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Former Ireland hooker Keith Wood has just told BBC Radio Scotland that he thinks Brian O'Driscoll has been getting fed up with all the publicity involving his impending retirement. O'Driscoll is famed for keeping his emotions in check, but Wood said: "I think he will be very emotional, but I think he will be proud and I think he will be relieved." Wood also thinks that Leinster will win but only "by two or three points".

There are believed to be as many as 3,000 Glasgow Warriors fans at the RDS Arena today. They are already making plenty of noise as the stadium announcer goes through the line-ups.

"It didn't hit me until I saw the boys walk into the dressing-room. It is a killer.

"Mixed emotions. But I am sure the boys will do themselves proud today.

"Watching the boys, they look so relaxed, which is the perfect way to go into a game like this."

  11. GET INVOLVEDpublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Former Scotland internationals Peter Wright and John Beattie, now among the talking heads on BBC Scotland these days, both suggest that this will be a close-run game, but they both suggest that Brian O'Driscoll will end his career on a high with a Leinster victory. Do you agree?

That 28-25 reverse at the RDS in March and Glasgow coach Gregor Townsend says that was the turning point of their season and, indeed, it was their last defeat before a run of nine wins in a row. Warriors beat Leinster 12-6 at Scotstoun in September, but they have only won once in 19 visits to the Dublin arena.

Those two semi-finals were not exactly try-fests, which suggests the final will be similar, with the winner possibly coming from the defeat that defends best. tight too considering that, since season 2010-11, has a league match between them been settled by a margin greater than a converted try.

Glasgow have the best defensive record in the Pro12 for the third successive season and only Leinster and Edinburgh have scored more than 25 points against them this term.

Warriors, beaten in the last four three times previously, took advantage of their first-ever home semi-final to edge out Munster 16-15 at Scotstoun Stadium. Leinster, who finished one place ahead of Glasgow in the league table, also faced a tough challenge before overcoming Ulster 13-9.

  15. TEAM NEWSpublished at 17:43 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Townsend, renowned for his squad rotation policy and picking "horses for courses", has this time only made two changes from the semi-final. In comes Gordon Reid, whose barnstorming try against Munster after replacing Ryan Grant has helped ensure a starting berth ahead of the Lions prop.

Meanwhile, Peter Horne is preferred to Mark Bennett at inside centre, with Alex Dunbar moving to outside centre. It means recent Scotland debutant Finn Russell is preferred to international team-mates Duncan Weir and Ruaridh Jackson at fly-half, with the latter on the bench.

  16. TEAM NEWSpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Glasgow Warriors coach Gregor Townsend has again left Lions full-back Stuart Hogg out of his match-day squad. Townsend has insisted that it has nothing to do with reports that Hogg had talked to Ulster about a possible move ahead of the final year of his contract. Instead, he says it was down to the performances of Peter Murchie, who also played in the semi-final against Munster.

Ulster last week signed South African full-back Louis Ludik as their final overseas signing for next season, so Hogg clearly isn't heading to Ravenhill any time soon. However, is Townsend cutting his nose off despite his face, to coin a cliche? Give us your thoughts.

  17. TEAM NEWSpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Leinster coach Matt O'Connor has made three changes. South Africa wing Zane Kirchner replaces the injured Dave Kearney, Mike Ross comes in for fellow Ireland prop Martin Moore, while lock Mike McCarthy returns from injury to replace Quinn Roux.

  18. TEAM NEWSpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Brian O'Driscoll has recovered from a head knock to take his place in the Leinster line-up. However, winger Dave Kearney failed to recover from a knee injury.
