I said at the very beginning that the show must go on - and it will indeed continue to do so.

That concludes our coverage from the Leicester City Stadium, but please do pop over here to enjoy live text and radio commentary of Ireland v Italy.

  2. Argentina 45-16 Tongapublished at 16:27

A brief final check on that missed tackles stat we were keeping our eye on too, and the final tally was 63. Sixty-three! That's almost one every minute.

  3. Argentina 45-16 Tongapublished at 16:25

Tonga definitely can't complain that they were starved of possession, but Argentina were at their clinical best to secure a comfortable 45-16 victory in Leicester.

And that is very much that. Five tries for the Pumas sees them take a rather sizeable step towards the last eight.

But the Pumas turn it over and, even with the clock red, decide that they'll try to end with a flourish - and end with a flourish they do.

The ball is pinged over towards the right flank, where Argentina have numbers over, and Santiago Cordero dances inside to touch down.

    Nicolas Sanchez converts, Argentina celebrate.

  6. Argentina 38-16 Tongapublished at 79 mins

Here's that "ole, ole, ola, Argentina" chant Owen was talking about earlier. It is certainly encouraging to hear the crowd still so warmly embracing the World Cup, even after England's exit last night. Public enthusiasm hasn't wavered yet, at least.

The ball is in Tongan hands on halfway, we've got around 60 seconds to play.

Here comes the Mexican wave! If I had a pound for every Mexican wave at this tournament...

Anyhow, the crowd are in party mood and Tonga are into the Argentine 22, before eventually knocking on.

Tonga are a proud old bunch - and I use the word "old" deliberately, as their starting XV here is the oldest team in Rugby World Cup history - and they're on the attack once more.

  9. try

Try - Montoya, con Sanchezpublished at 72 mins

It looks unbelievably marginal, but Julian Montoya has produced a bit of magic to get the ball down while dangling his right left just high enough above the floor for it to count.

Nicolas Sanchez's conversion is good, Argentina are bossing it.

They're over again too - but did Julian Montoya's boot graze the touchline as he touched down? Back up to the television match official...

  11. Argentina 31-16 Tongapublished at 71 mins

It's Argentina's turn to come forward this time, and they're right up to the Tongan line, but Tomas Cubelli drifted out of play before he could cross the whitewash.

They're still pressing though, the Pumas, and have a line-out 10 metres out.

  12. Ole Ole Ola, Argentinapublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 4 October 2015

It's not that easy to follow the constant Argentine singing, but reckon even I can master the stirring rendition of "Ole Ole Ola, Argentina" which greeted that try.

A real sense of relief coming through with the noisiest chanting so far. It could just be the constant flow of beer, of course, but the stadium was literally bouncing after that score.

  13. Argentina 31-16 Tongapublished at 68 mins

But, having secured the ball and made their way up to the five-metre line, replacement Latiume Fosita spills it forward and they'll have to start all over again.

Can the Tongans produce something yet, however?

Joseph Tuineau enters a ruck from the side, so Kurt Morath heads for touch.

  15. try

Try - Sanchez, missed con Sanchezpublished at 64 mins

It's clinical from the Pumas, who move the ball from left to right, before Nicolas Sanchez dummies and darts through the line to touch down.

He misses the conversion, but either way that could turn out to be terminal for Tonga.

But Argentina have turned it over! Here they come, 10 metres out...

But Tonga spoil the party, winning a penalty at the scrum. They're not going anywhere in a hurry, no sir.

All the while, the Argentina supporters continue to chant away, more like football fans.

After a couple of replays, the answer is a fairly comprehensive "no" from the television match official.

Five-metre scrum for Argentina, it is.

The pumas are on the attack, up to the five-metre line thanks to the fleet-footed Nicolas Sanchez. Three metres out, one metre out... They're over! But have they got the ball to ground?...

After a free-flowing first half, full to the brim with tries, carries, offloads and hopelessly missed tackles, this second period is becoming incredibly frustrating.

Soane Tonga'uiha is guilty at the breakdown, so Argentina go to touch this time.
