    Argentina 20-13 Tonga

Referee Jaco Peyper brings to a close a really decent 40 minutes of rugby at the Leicester City Stadium.

Argentina are ahead thanks to two cracking tries from Joaquin Tuculet and Juan Imhoff, but that late Soane Tonga'uiha score keeps Tonga interested.

Try - Tonga'uiha, missed con Morathpublished at 38 mins

No forward pass and no leg into touch, so Soane Tonga'uiha's try will indeed count.

Telusa Veainu plays a starring role, offloading majestically as he was being pushed out of play, and the loose-head prop can go over from close range.

Kurt Morath's conversion drifts wide but we have a game on our hands again.

  3. Try review - Tonga'uihapublished at 38 mins

And the Tongans are over! But we're heading to the television match official first - there's a forward pass and a potential leg into touch that need looking at here...

Leicester is looking stunning this afternoon, and I'm not sure how many times that's been said before.

A couple of turnovers sees Fetu'u Vainikolo step in off his wing and take Tonga up to the 22-metre line...

  5. Argentina 20-8 Tongapublished at 34 mins

The Pumas are back in possession, as Juan Imhoff and Joaquin Tuculet stream forward down that left wing.

But, despite creating a two-on-one situation, Tuculet tries to send a grubber through for his team-mate instead of drawing the tackle and passing.

    An opportunity wasted.

  6. Penalty - Morathpublished at 32 mins

    Argentina 20-8 Tonga

Not that Tonga fly-half Kurt Morath will be too bothered about all of that, of course, as he lands the three-pointer to close the gap.

  7. Argentina 20-5 Tongapublished at 31 mins

A couple of reset scrums, before Argentina are awarded another set-piece penalty. Another blue and white wave is forthcoming too - but the ball is spilled, so the two packs will go to business again.

And, a reset later, this time the Pumas are guilty of collapsing the scrum.

You do feel this is where rugby union lets itself down a bit sometimes - we've just lost about four minutes while 16 blokes push each other without getting anywhere.

An explosive reaction to two wonderful tries. It feels more like Buenos Aries than Leicester. The early concerns after the brilliant Tongan start seems a long time ago.

This is where discipline and organisation comes to the fore. And it seems to have vanished from a Tongan perspective.

  9. Penalty - Sanchezpublished at 26 mins

    Argentina 20-5 Tonga

Fly-half Nicolas Sanchez's radar is in fine working order today, as he splits the posts to extend the advantage to an already sizeable 15 points.

It all looked so good for Tonga after the first 15 minutes or so, wasn't it?

  10. Argentina 17-5 Tongapublished at 25 mins

A wee pause in play as the Tongan physio comes on to attend to prop Soane Tonga'uiha, though it doesn't look too serious.

He joins the rest of his pack once more to scrum down, that following an Argentina knock-on.

And what a shove from the Pumas - everything is going their way now!

  11. try

That is just fantastic, and Tonga have no answer. Argentina are sizzling all of a sudden, moving the ball from right to left in the blink of an eye. They have numbers over too - and wing Juan Imhoff is the man to provide the finishing touch, dummying and then cutting inside to score near the sticks.

Nicolas Sanchez adds the extras again, and the Pumas are sprinting clear.

Goodness me, the Argentines turned it on there. They gather the restart and again target the Tongan right flank, with Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe - whose name is possibly the longest at the World Cup - making some valuable metres.

The ball is recycled again and full-back Joaquin Tuculet is Jonny on the spot to cross from close range. Decent finish.

Nicolas Sanchez converts, Argentina lead by five.

And Nicolas Sanchez's kick is good, so Argentina are on the board.

  14. Argentina 0-5 Tongapublished at 18 mins

It looks a decent chance for Argentina too as wing Juan Imhoff finds himself in space out wide, but spills the ball.

We're heading back for a Pumas penalty, however, and they'll go for the sticks...

  15. Argentina 0-5 Tongapublished at 17 mins

Argentina are a side with decent pedigree, eighth in the world rankings and above the likes of Scotland, Fiji and Japan. They even toppled South Africa in the Rugby Championship earlier this year.

But they're not having it all their own way here, although Martin Landajo manages to pounce upon a turnover just inside his own half to have the Pumas moving forward at last...

Well it's pretty obvious who the vast majority of the neutral fans are supporting after the early Tongan try. Total silence from the Argentines. That was until the conversion was missed.

They really aren't happy with the refereeing so far, they obviously feel it's far too lenient. Having a pop at the ref is a universal language.

  17. Hand of Godpublished at 14 mins

    Argentina 0-5 Tonga

Oh to have a player with the handling, and footballing skills, of Diego Maradona. The Argentine great is wildly cheering the Pumas from the stands, adding a bit of stardust to the occasion. Who needs Prince Harry when you have King Diego?

Argentina now have the ball in hand, but they're struggling to progress beyond halfway.

  18. Argentina 0-5 Tongapublished at 11 mins

What a start this is from Tonga, superb. Again they fly through the phases, and scrum-half Sonatane Takulua finds a little pocket in which to trot... But he spills the ball five metres short of the line.

    Unlucky.

Catherine W: Tonga. Wow. Nails. Would you mess with that? I don't think so

  20. Argentina 0-5 Tongapublished at 9 mins

The Pumas put up a decent fight competing for the restart, but can only knock Nicolas Sanchez's hanging kick on, handing Tonga a scrum - from which they win a penalty!

Bit of a surprise that. Leicester's Marcos Ayerza - a world class loose-head - is the guilty party.

    Tonga go to touch.
