    So congratulations to the Dark Blues of Oxford on winning their sixth consecutive Varsity. I'm sure they will be partying like only students know how to tonight. Watch out the traffic cones of London!

    But Cambridge, whose star man Jamie Roberts came off injured at half-time, will have to lick their wounds after running their opponents so close in the 134th Varsity match.

    It's only a dead leg but it got worse and worse as the first half went on. I couldn't run after half-time so I had to come off. Congratulations to Oxford. The guys chucked everything into it and we can't ask for anything more from the guys. It's an amazing day, the pinnacle of student sport and for these boys it's their cup final. A few of the guys are in tears and it's very difficult.

    It's absolutely incredible. The guys have put so much into this over the last three months. Oxford made it really, really hard. We're very pleased. I imagine the celebrations will be pretty emphatic but the guys have deserved it.

    Cambridge's front eight were ginormous this afternoon, but their back line didn't have quite the nous or the penetrative skills that were needed to get through the Oxford defence.

    Oxford were able to ramp it up when it really mattered most and win the key turnovers. This was a great performance from number one through 15 for Oxford.

    It's a record-breaking day for the Dark Blues as they win for the sixth successive time - the first time that has been achieved in the Varsity's history.

    Meanwhile, it's the first time in 14 years there hasn't been a try in the match, but let's be honest, it was still a cracking game of rugby!

    Cambridge couldn't make the most of a first 25 minutes in which they were quite dominant. Oxford stayed in the game and as it progressed they looked the more likely to score a try. I think they just had a bit more nous.

    Cambridge get close to the line through James Kilroe, but the Oxford pack are so strong and turn the ball over, kick it out of play and the referee blows for full-time.

    What an incredibly intense game.

    Cambridge are down to 14 men for the rest of the game as full-back Simon Davies crashes into Henry de Berker when the Oxford scrum-half was in mid-air. 

    Easy decision for Greg Garner to make and Davies looks absolutely gutted.

    Cambridge are giving it everything and get close to the Oxford line but James Kilroe loses the ball and Ed David breaks clear.

    However, the replacement can't get on the end of his own kick past the Cambridge defence and the Light Blues clear the danger.

    Tom Stileman has looked quite a player today, and he ghosts past the Cambridge defence like nobody is there and after offloading to a support player, George Cullen has the chance to put his side ahead with a penalty.
