"Ireland held their own in that scrum but they need to show something now or the French will start to build in confidence."

A bowling ball with not great hands though... France go wide off a scrum and look to have worked a little space out wide for Jonathan Danty, but he spills a simple pass.

France finally get some field position and centre Jonathan Danty - a bowling ball with nice distribution skills - crashes into the Irish pins, but the visitors work hard and turn the ball over.

...and Ireland blow it. They win the line-out initially and Sean O'Brien gets to within a couple of yards, but when play is switched into midfield it is Ireland who are befuddled and the ball is knocked on. 

Ireland have definitely started the better, with Sean O'Brien using his farmer strength to plough furrows up the middle of the park, and they kick a penalty into the corner five metres out. Big chance here...
