    Ireland 13-13 Wales

Wales' turn to have a go at attacking.

They look more effective than Ireland, creeping over the advantage line in pretty much every phases as they combine width with considerable muscle.

But the good work comes to an end as Scott Baldwin finds his hands have been replaced by hooves.

    Inconvenient.

"Wales work so hard defensively and they know sides like Ireland will throw everything at them.

"But when Ireland do that and don't get anywhere it makes Wales much more confident."

Nothing is separating the two teams in the scoreline. Nothing is separating the two teams in possession and territory. Tighter than Gethin Jenkins's shorts...

    Wales' defence is claustrophobic close.

Ireland are trying to run the ball from deep, but are finding only cul-de-sacs and brick walls.

Jamie Roberts draw groans and then boos from the home crowd as he crunches into a whiplash-inducing tackle on Robbie Henshaw.

Replays show it was just about low enough - the shoulder landing at about nipple height - with both arms wrapping round.

    Roll up, roll up.

But Simon Zebo's juggling act ends in groans for Ireland.

There was an overlap outside him, but the Ireland full-back could not quite get a grasp on Robbie Henshaw's snappy improvised pass.

Forward it goes and Wales wipe their brows with relief once again.

Nick Powell: Wales defence superb here. My tip for a grand slam if they do it here. From an English fan.

    Denis Hickie
Former Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

"Great defence from Wales, but Ireland were too predictable. If you don't come away with a victory at the end of the game then those are the sorts of moments you think about."

    Ireland 13-13 Wales

Cool heads and safe hands desert Ireland in the kill zone once again.

Too much haste and not enough speed and the ball spills forward.

Eyeball-plucking frustration for coach Joe Schmidt.

    Electric break by Simon Zebo!

Conor Murray is in support and carries it on.

Scragged 15 metres short by opposite number Gareth Davies, Wales are strung out across the pitch and ragged though.

Ruairi Ward: Astounds me that Ireland carry on ignoring the exciting, electric Craig Gilroy when creative spark is often what's missing!

Rory Best opts to go to the middle and the lighthouse-like Devin Toner.

    Safe as houses.

Ireland rumble a rolling maul forward a few metres, but when the momentum dies and they shift wide, Jonathan Davies manages to force the knock-on as he targets the ball in the tackle.

    Chance gone. For now.

Rhys Priestland steps in and very nearly intercepts Jared Payne's attempted pass to Simon Zebo.

The ball loops up off the Wales fly-half's biceps and drops agonisingly out of reach.

Instead of a run under the sticks and seven points, it is judged a deliberate knock-on and Ireland kick down into the Wales 22.

    Them's the breaks.

"Wales will feel this is a pretty good return considering their position just before half-time.

"Ireland have just defended since the half began - they've not touched the ball apart from to defend."

Rhys Priestland slips the ball through the slot as easy as if he was buying a can of pop from a vending machine.

Wales are level after falling 13 points behind.

That must be Tommy O'Donnell's bad ear.

The Ireland flanker ignores Jerome Garces' instructions to release the tackled man on the floor and pays the price.

Penalty Wales and this should be meat and drink to Rhys Priestland.

Rhys Priestland snaps a drop-goal attempt that would bring Wales level.

    Nope, not this time.

His kick screws wide, but his team have started well.

They are still pressing and probing.
