Italy are looking as feeble as a hungover student's efforts to get to the library.

Jamie Heaslip bustles through some paper-bag tackling and that is the rustle of record books being rifled through for record winning margins.

Oh deary me. Do you want that gift-wrapped Mr Payne?

Italy try and run the ball from deep, but Jared Payne reads Edoardo Padovani's mis-pass a mile off and swoops to intercept and stroll between the sticks.

Sexton adds the extras with a routine kick and this could get ugly.

    Sergio Parisse is incensed.

He is angered by Devin Toner, squeals to the referee and gesticulates for the video official.

But the Ireland second row has got away with shoving Italy full-back David Odiete. If there was a real shove there at all.

It is difficult to look like a continental sophisticate with a soft felt top hat on.

But I think these two Italy fans are almost there.

Style in their DNA. Damn them.

"Italy are going to have to come up with something different. They don't have the ability to play at the higher tempo that Ireland play at so they'll have to go back to their set-piece game."

"That's about as good a try as you'll see in international rugby. It was all about looking to offload the ball rather than taking it to ground - that's what this Ireland team can do and that's what people want to see."

    And what a try!

Too conservative, too nervous about chancing their arm. That is what they said about Joe Schmidt's Ireland.

Perhaps they are right. But when Johnny Sexton decides to run from inside his own 22 metre what follows is pure gasp-inducing magic.

Simon Zebo through a gap, a back-of-the-hand off-load to Jared Payne, play switches back to the other wing and Jamie Heaslip chugs into the corner to finish a sublime team score.

Sexton misses with the extras. No-one minds.
