Chris Ashton scored twice on his return from a 10-week ban as Premiership leaders Saracens beat Bath, who had England wing Anthony Watson sent off.

Watson was shown a straight red card for taking Sarries full-back Alex Goode out in the air with half an hour to go.

The visitors were already 18-3 ahead at the time, with Will Fraser and Mike Ellery both crossing before the break.

Two tries for Ashton, banned for making contact with the eyes of Ulster's Luke Marshall, sealed Saracens' bonus point.

    Bath 10-30 Saracens

Mercifully from Bath's point of view, Saracens opt to kick for touch and bring this game to an end rather than push for a fifth try. Saracens have won, convincingly, and it has been very comfortable.

  7. Bath 10-30 Saracenspublished at 80 mins

In surely the last play of the game. Saracens win yet another penalty. It is the 13th that Bath have conceded tonight. The visitors have the ball five metres out. The 80 minutes are up.

Bath look sure to score their second try but the ball is knocked on when Rhys Priestland was in a good position. More frustration for the hosts.

Lock Dave Attwood, it's worth us mentioning, has lasted the full game here on his return after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a neck injury. Before the match he admitted he probably wasn't fully match fit, but his fitness boost could prove to be one of the few positives for Bath tonight.

Saracens are easing to victory now. Bath look bruised. They had a mini revival 10 minutes ago, but the contest is all-but over now.

  11. try

    Bath 10-30 Saracens

Straight down the other end, Saracens punish Bath with another sublime team try. Chris Ashton has his second of the night on his first match back after 10 weeks out, thanks to a perfect flick back inside to him from Will Fraser. They have a bonus point now too, and surely a comfortable win.

... And the imperious Owen Farrell curls over the conversion as well. That was class.

Wing Semesa Rokoduguni is almost in for Bath but can't quite claim a high ball in the corner and eventually the referee gives a penalty to Saracens and the hosts may have missed a big chance there.

Bath haven't given this up yet. They win another penalty and George Ford kicks for territory. The crowd roar. They're a man down. They need another score quickly.

There's relief for Saracens' Neil de Kock as he is almost caught out by an awkward bouncing ball, but it is short lived, as moments later, Bath drive and drive and Leroy Houston peels away to touch down in the corner.

The hosts have hope! Chris Cook is back on the field now too, after his sin bin. And George Ford's conversion reduces the deficit to 13 points.

Bath force a turnover through the battling Semesa Rokoduguni and George Ford kicks into the corner. Can they find a try to make this scoreline more respectable?

No, Saracens win the ball back as the ball comes loose and the chance may be gone.

Ironic cheers ring our around the Rec for a lengthy standing ovation for the officials as Bath are awarded a decision. Whether that's fair on the referee is debatable, but clearly Bath are going to be unhappy about Anthony Watson's dismissal for some time.

The hosts have a scrum inside their own half.

  17. try

There it is, Chris Ashton has a try on his comeback and that is surely game over.

Saracens drive from the line-out. It's simple. Richard Wigglesworth finds Ashton down the blindside.

He has plenty of space and the England wing easily crosses for his third Premiership try of the season.

Now the visitors, with a two-man advantage, pile on the pressure and they have a penalty eight metres out. They opt to kick for the corner.

    Bath 3-18 Saracens

Bath are down to 13 men now as Chris Cook is shown a yellow card for a dangerous tackle.

  20. Bath 3-18 Saracenspublished at 52 mins

Bath are very, very angry with that decision. Would a yellow card have been more appropriate? Alex Goode was lucky not to be badly injured though. The debate will continue for quite some time.

The game is surely over now though as Anthony Watson was arguably Bath's best player before that incident.
