There's a little bit of 'afters' and a scuffle in the middle as players from both sides square up to each other after a scrum breaks down again. It is getting a little edgy, that's for sure.

Eventually Saracens are awarded another penalty at the scrum and then we see more pushing and grappling. The home crowd are unimpressed.

But, at the end of all that, Owen Farrell will have the chance to kick Saracens into a 13-point lead, from about 40 metres...

Wales' Rhys Priestland comes on for injured wing Horacio Agulla. Anthony Watson switches to the wing for Bath as a result, and Priestland will go to full-back.

Bath win a penalty at the scrum as this time Saracens are penalised. Mako Vunipola was deemed to have gone straight down onto his knees and the referee saw it all clearly.

Moments later, Chris Ashton is adjudged to have pushed someone. As a result of both of those decisions, Bath move nicely up into Saracens territory.

  4. Bath 0-10 Saracenspublished at 16 mins

Saracens look imperious when they move the ball with pace and they're almost in for a second try but the ball is knocked forward by Marcelo Bosch.

Bath have been warned. That was a let-off.

Saracens pride themselves on their defence and their speed off the line is amazing. I must say they're looking impressive.

Full-back Anthony Watson earns a roar from the home crowd as he skips past two challenges down the right flank. It comes to nothing but Bath will want to see plenty more of that for the rest of the game.

Owen Farrell makes no mistake, confidently kicking between the posts to give Saracens a 10-point advantage.

  8. Bath 0-7 Saracenspublished at 10 mins

Not the start the hosts wanted then, as the league leaders go in front.

We have the first scrum of the game, just inside the Bath half, with a Bath put-in... But they're penalised and concede a penalty, and Owen Farrell will kick for a further three points.

  9. try

Try (Fraser, con Farrell)published at 7 mins

    Bath 0-7 Saracens

Saracens take the lead and Bath only have themselves to blame.

A poor clearance from home scrum-half Chris Cook can only pick out returning Saracens wing Chris Ashton on the edge of the 22 out wide, Sarries recycle the ball quickly and in the blink of an eye Will Fraser forces his way over for the night's first try.

And, from a relatively tight angle, Owen Farrell adds the extras.

  10. Bath 0-0 Saracenspublished at 4 mins

Bath win a penalty and George Ford kicks into touch, midway into the Saracens half for a line-out to Bath.

A great start from the superstar Anthony Watson, making the break like that and showing his class. That was great speed and it's been a great start for Bath.

The visitors Saracens enjoy some possession early on but then Bath turn the ball over and Anthony Watson looks to break clear and bursts 30 metres forward over the half-way line and Sarries are forced back into their own half. A lively start!

It seems strange to say it, given that tonight's match sees ninth host first in the Premiership, but this is a repeat of last year's play-off final.

While Saracens are still pushing for a second consecutive title, Bath really haven't delivered on their high expectations so far in 2015-16.

So what has gone wrong for Mike Ford's side this term?

  17. Has the 'tide turned' for Bath?published at 19:35

    Bath v Saracens (19:45 BST)

It is safe to say this season hasn't really gone to plan so far for Bath, who lie ninth in the table.

But three wins from their last four games has given the Blue, Black and Whites a welcome boost, and lock Dave Attwood, returning to the first team tonight after recovering from a neck injury, believes the "tide has turned" for Bath after last Saturday's win at Gloucester.

"The momentum that will give us will be huge, he told BBC Radio Bristol. "There is plenty for us to play for.

"There are no dead rubbers. It was a great result for us last weekend.

"It's nice that the tide has turned a little bit in terms of what we're doing on the field. We certainly look like a more competent team running around."

    Bath v Saracens (19:45 BST)

Good evening and thanks for joining us for another Friday night Premiership clash.

The eagle-eyed among you may have spotted 'BST' just above - a sure indication that summer is on it's way and, as the evenings get lighter, where more picturesque than The Rec for a spot of twilight rugby union?

Now, who remembers that England side that won a fairly big international tournament earlier this month? A few of you, good. Well eight of them on are on show this evening.

Let's see how they get on as they continue to readjust back to life in the top flight...
