BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Former Scotland scrum-half Rory Lawson on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: "It was a little reckless from Simon McIntyre - he looked like he had gone for a charge-down though. He had not altered his line of running going into that piece of contact."

Tough times for Saracens, Goode with a badly misjudged clearance before McIntyre clatters him. That looked late but the Saracens full-back is OK. Play on... Itoje forces the knock-on at the line-out, Saracens scrum...

    Saracens 14-10 Wasps

BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Former Scotland scrum-half Rory Lawson on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: "Christian Wade is not going to knock someone over or bump them off in the tackle. he excels when he is isolated against his opposite number and has the space to stand them up and leave them for dead as he did to Chris Wyles there."

Wyles with the knock-on and it's adjudged to be deliberate. Gopperth kicks to the corner, Wasps with their best period of the game as Farrell prepares to rejoin the fray. Wade is a scary young man with ball in hand, must be like trying to snare a blob of mercury with some chopsticks...

That was very smart work by Saracens from the line-out, Brits throwing short to Itoje and getting the ball back again before offloading to the same team-mate one-handed. Itoje imperious at the line-out again and here comes the drive into the Wasps half... but Haskell nicks it... Charles Piutau kicks through, Goode collects and kicks back... Simpson takes a risk, passing long inside his own 22 and it comes off, Wade skimming through four or five tackles and taking Wasps into the Saracens 22...

    Saracens 14-10 Wasps

BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Former Scotland scrum-half Rory Lawson on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: "Saracens have made way more errors than they would typically make in the game. I know there is pressure in a game like this, but that knock-on was a very basic mistake from a player of Billy Vunipola's class."

That earlier yellow card for Owen Farrell splitting opinion in the press box.

Some, myself included, felt in real time Farrell had been unable to control his momentum as Robson tried to duck and weave his way clear of contact.

Others around me calling for a red card instead for the reckless nature that some angles on the action replay were appearing to show.

Brits flies down the left wing, passes inside to Itoje one-handed, Goode drops into the pocket but the pack drives on... Billy Vunipola knocks on, Wasps have a reprieve...

Brits with a shuddering hit on Gopperth and it's more of the same since the restart, Wasps with ball and Saracens bashing everything that moves.

Robson finally off, clutching an oxygen mask to his face. That wasn't a particularly bad tackle by Farrell, Robson slipped into it, but Gopperth has nailed the three-pointer from right in front.

    Saracens 14-7 Wasps

Andrew Priestley on Twitter: That is a horrendous tackle from Owen Farrell. In my eyes he is fortunate to only get a yellow. That was dangerous and reckless

Joe Simpson will enter the fray as soon as Robson is removed from the pitch. The medical men and women taking plenty of time, as they should do with a head injury. I should reiterate, however, that Robson is sitting up.

    Saracens 14-7 Wasps

BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Former Scotland scrum-half Rory Lawson on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: "It looked really nasty from Owen Farrell. He only had a half-second to go at Dan Robson, but he has flung himself into the tackle quite recklessly. There was a swinging arm in there and he led head-first."

    Saracens 14-7 Wasps

I don't think we'll be seeing Robson again today, he was out before he hit the canvas. However, he is sitting up now. Farrell, meanwhile, is caked in blood from what looks like a ear injury. But that might be the definition of insult to injury, as Farrell is shown a yellow card for that tackle on Robson, on his way to the blood bin.

No exaggeration (are you sure? ed), but you could feel the earth shudder around this stadium as James Haskell put in a hit of real force in on his England team-mate Owen Farrell.

Moments after Farrell had kicked his second long-distance penalty, he was down on the canvas from the battering ram that is Haskell.

Some real spice in this game now, what have Wasps got in their locker to counter Saracens' dominance at the breakdown?

  19. Saracens 14-7 Waspspublished at 50 mins

Haskell takes at the tail but the Saracens defence immediately kicks into action, every time Wasps put a few phases together it's like a gang of blood-thirsty attack dogs are released. Oh dear, looks like Robson is out cold...

Brits gathers the restart and goes on a barrel, but Hughes nicks it at the breakdown and Wasps come clear... Wasps penalty for a Farrell high tackle, I believe, and Gopperth kicks for the corner...
