Wales, what have you got? Cool heads needed. They go through the phases... 10, 11, 12th phase... into the All Blacks 22... but they're heading into a cul de sac, down the blindside but there isn't enough space. The referee toots his whistle and the All Blacks will have possession.

He has been warned a few times, he has given away a couple of penalties in the first half and the ref has had enough, he's said to Sam Cane, 'go and have a sit down and think about that son'.

Sam Cane drags Rhys Webb into the ruck and referee Jerome Garces spots that. A yellow for the flanker. "Sam Cane doesn't have Richie McCaw's cloak of invisibility," says a colleague. Hmm.

Beauden Barrett was tackled but kept his legs pumping, he just spun out of the tackle and scored.

It's a slog for Wales. They're unable to stop the All Blacks from eating up ground. All Blacks with a scrum 5m from Wales' line - and what happens next? You know what happens next...

A shove forward, the ball in All Black hands, forward they rumble, over the line they go, outside-half Beauden Barrett underneath the pile, the oval ball in his hand. He successfully converts.

It would perhaps be stating the obvious to say that Wales need to score first in this half if they are to have any hope, but this half begins as the second half ended - with New Zealand attacking with pace and guile.

Israel Dagg explosive with the ball in hand... he feeds Elliot Dixon who eats up metres down the left flank... Wales somehow keep the All Blacks at bay - Rhys Webb stopping the flanker from passing inside.

A second look at the first-half highlights and, whether they're playing your team or not, you cannot help but admire Steve Hansen's men when they explode into action, handling the ball like the NBA's finest. Admittedly, Wales haven't helped their own cause with a number of poorly executed kicks.

That was simply sensational from New Zealand.

They made a slow start to the game but then warmed up in spectacular fashion with some of the best rugby they've played in this Test series.

The world champions had made five changes to their side, giving the likes of George Moala a run out in the midfield against Wales' vastly experienced combination of Jamie Roberts and Jonathan Davies.

Wales were tipped to have the upper hand at centre, but two-cap Moala has been terrific. Weakness? What weakness?

This isn't looking good for Wales...

Wales have not given up, they have taken it to the All Blacks, but they have missed an opportunity there. There was a bit of white line fever and the rushed defence of the All Blacks stopped it.

Wales, Wales, Wales, deary me. That was a superb opportunity to drag themselves back into the match. The half-time whistle blows and the men in red trudge off wondering about what could've been.

"Wales! Wales!" are the cries from a pocket in the corner of the stadium. Rhys Webb goes wide quickly, to Liam Williams who slips but retains the ball. Wales switch play, Jamie Roberts bursts through... it's messy... Hallam Amos attempts to pick up the loose ball but he fails to gather... Opportunity missed.

Gareth Bryer: I know this is all NZ but Liam Williams has to play 15 in the Autumn. Halfpenny on the wing.

Stewart Milligan: NZ showing why they are world champs, give them any scraps and they are absolutely clinical. Make it look effortless in attack.

Andrew Lavoipierre: What part of "don't kick the ball to NZ" don't Wales understand?

Hello Wales. The men in red are into the All Blacks 22... A line-out drive doing the damage. There's an opportunity... the forwards rumble over the line, but there's no way of knowing who has the ball or whether it's been grounded. Wales will opt for a scrum. It's now or never in this half.

It looks like the All Blacks have got the edge now, they have picked up the pace of the game. Wales have to hold in there, keep ball in hand and don't give any turnovers away. Their backline needs to run at the fringe defenders, they have good runners but at the moment they have been running into an All Black wall.

Rhys Webb's high kick isn't quite accurate enough and, surprise, surprise, the All Blacks punish them.

From defence to attack in the blink of an eye. The hosts' back three find the gaps, Israel Dagg bursts forward... they're beguiling when they attack like this, the Harlem Globetrotters of rugby union with the ball in hand. A try is inevitable, George Moala over the line, Beauden Barrett with the two points.

Oof! Wales respond positively, shoving the All Blacks back in the scrum. Back slapping galore from the forwards and rightly so. Wonderful stuff. Dan Biggar with the pressure-easing touchfinder.

George Moala apparently lost the ball in the tackle, the ball falling onto Liam Williams' leg as he desperately prevented the try. Super defending. Wales' put in at the scrum, 5m from their own line. Ominous signs, though.

Jarleth Eaton: Ben Smith's elbow hit the flag before he grounded the ball for his try. Is that not in touch?

Afraid not Jarleth, the corner flag is still in play - the law was changed a couple of years ago.
