    Australia 40-44 England

It was an engrossing match even though the series had been decided last weekend. Australia led by a point at half-time, the lead changed 10 times, 84 points were scored, there were nine tries - England outscored by five tries to four, but Eddie Jones' men were the winners. A superb achievement.

What a turnaround from the World Cup.

England have been superior in just about every aspect, one clear one is the decision making and growth of players into a proper team and worthy of number two in the world is phenomenal.

The quality of the Test match far superior from an Australian perspective compared to the first two tests.

But the scrum is nowhere near as strong and a weapon as it was last year.

Bernard Foley's missed conversion is the last kick of the series. England had never won a series down under until this summer - they've not only achieved a series win but have done so with a whitewash.

Australia attack at the death. Bernard Foley is close, but is held up, Taqele Naiyaravoro - the 19-stone winger who looks like he's been fed on raw meat since the age of two - crosses over near the touchline. There's no hope of stopping him from 3m out. Bernard Foley misses the conversion.

It is a phenomenal performance by England, the execution has been outstanding, They have not been as sharp but they have shown the ability to stay in the game.

It has been an outstanding tour, they have never won a series in Australia. They deserve it as they have played great footy. Tactically they have been on song, decision making, going for goal - they have been faultless and that has been the difference.

Owen Farrell has kicked 23 of his 26 at goal. Remarkable. The home supporters are leaving the stadium, it's nearly all over.

Has Michael Hooper stolen the ball? Possibly, but his team-mate Nick Phipps is penalised for shoving Danny Care out of play. It could've been Australian ball, Hooper had his man, but Phipps' folly allows Owen Farrell to add three points to the score and that is surely that. A whitewash.

England going through the phases, content to let the forwards keep the ball. Mike Brown, though, pops up, zig-zagging but getting nowhere. England still with the ball, however.

Australia, after a series of phases, boot the ball deep and England flap, first Anthony Watson whose tame return kick allows the Aussies to turn Mike Brown when they next put boot to ball. The England full-back finds touch, but it's Australia ball on the halfway line. Can England stem a green and gold tide in these closing stages?
