  1. Missed penalty (Delany)published at 15:18 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Newcastle 7-0 Leicester

    The gap stays at seven.

Mike Delany can't punish Leicester, who conceded the penalty following JP Pietersen's high tackle.

  2. Half-timepublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 37-3 Bristol

    I'm off for a lie-down.

Wasps have been pacy, creative and clinical - scoring five tries to swat Bristol aside.

To be fair to Andy Robinson's side, they've looked mildly dangerous when they've had the ball but they're just not holding onto it.

They've got their pride to save in the second half.

  3. Postpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Newcastle 7-0 Leicester

    Curse of the commentator.

Newcastle lose the ball forward and Leicester have a scrum to clear their lines.

Ben Youngs with a good kick under pressure but Tigers are still in their own half as Newcastle come again.

    Wasps 37-3 Bristol

    Will this Wasps onslaught stop?!

They're swarming over poor old Bristol here - straight from the restart after their previous try, the ball goes wide and Elliot Daly makes a break which leads to Christian Wade being put in for the try.

Jimmy Gopperth converts from the left touchline.

Thankfully for Bristol half time is not far away.

    Newcastle 7-0 Leicester

Dominic Waldouck winning the penalty to help Newcastle for the try on his first Premiership start for Newcastle. And his side are on the attack once again.

They've secured the lineout ball five metres out from the Leicester try line and Tigers will do well to keep them out here....

Try (Symons, con Gopperth)published at 15:11 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 30-3 Bristol

It's a bonus point try for Wasps after only 36 minutes, and barring a miraculous comeback they will be joining Saracens and Bath on 14 points at the top of the Premiership.

The hosts have been relentless, and eventually get the points when lock Matt Symons crashes over.

  7. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 23-3 Bristol

Some scoreboard pressure at the Ricoh has an effect on Bristol captain Jack Lam's decision-making as the visitors win a penalty from a rare push forward.

They have an easy three points in front of the posts, but Lam opts to go for the try and it doesn't go his way - Wasps win the lineout and clear.

  8. try

Try (Socino, con Delany)published at 15:07 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Newcastle 7-0 Leicester

It's been a frantic start at Kingston Park with both sides making early errors.

But Newcastle get the first points of the afternoon.

Dominic Waldouck won the penalty at the breakdown to put Falcons on the front foot. Sonatane Takulua broke from the back of the ruck and his offload found Juan Pablo Socino who raced through.

    Newcastle looking dangerous.

    And breathe...

Oh no - another try for Wasps, or is it?

Stand-in Wasps skipper James Gaskell goes through and is ready to put another five points to the ever-increasing total, but referee Tim Wigglesworth spots a forward pass and Bristol are let off the hook.

We're around eight minutes from the interval.

  10. Kick-offpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Newcastle 0-0 Leicester

The second Premiership game of the day is under way at Kingston Park.

Referee JP Doyle blows and Falcons fly-half Mike Delany gets us started.

  11. try

    Try (Cooper-Woolley, con Gopperth)published at 14:59 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 23-3 Bristol

We're 30 minutes in and it's try number three for the home side.

It looked as though Bristol had closed down the attack but Wasps recycled the ball to put Joe Simpson through, who plays in prop Jake Cooper-Woolley and he puts the ball down on his first start of the season.

Jimmy Gopperth adds the extras and Bristol are in real trouble.

  12. try

Try (Daly, con missed)published at 14:55 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 16-3 Bristol

You won't see a try like this very often!

Wasps go wide off the restart and Christian Wade misses the ball, but it bounces back off the corner flag for Elliot Daly to pick up and dot down.

An element of luck for Dai Young's side but this game is already getting away from newly-promoted Bristol.

  13. Penalty (Gopperth)published at 14:54 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 11-3 Bristol

    Here we go again.

Wasps pile forward once more and get rewarded for their attacking intent, winning yet another penalty on the Bristol 10 metre line.

That man Jimmy Gopperth secures the three points for Wasps.

Back-rower Ally Hogg comes into the Newcastle pack along with prop Sam Lockwood, who makes his first start.

Centre Chris Harris' injury means Dominic Waldouck is promoted from the bench, fresh from signing his new deal earlier in the week.

Ben Youngs, Telusa Veainu and Owen Williams come into the Leicester back division, after their defeat by Wasps.

Former Falcons hooker George McGuigan starts, as does Ellis Genge, as two of five changes in the pack.

  15. Penalty (Gopperth)published at 14:50 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 8-3 Bristol

The black and golds go straight down the other end to get three points of their own through Jimmy Gopperth's penalty.

It's a carbon copy of the kick his opposite number had just a few minutes ago, and it's the same result as the New Zealander thumps the ball through the posts.

We're midway through the first half here.

  16. Penalty (Pisi)published at 14:47 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 5-3 Bristol

    Bristol are off the mark.

USA international Thretton Palamo thrusts himself into the action and wins a penalty through brute force.

Tusi Pisi knocks it over and we're starting to have a bit of a contest here.

    Wasps 5-0 Bristol

    Jenna Hawkey
    BBC Radio 5 live

"Wasps have come out with a huge amount of intent against a Bristol side yet to win since coming back up to the Premiership.

"Taylor's early try was a brilliantly-worked team effort, thanks to powerful catch and drive, but the visitors refuse to look shell-shocked."

    Wasps 5-0 Bristol

The hosts should probably have a second try and we're only eight minutes in.

Some fluid passing and impressive Christian Wade handling gives flanker Thomas Young a chance, but he's brought down before the line.

I doubt Bristol boss Andy Robinson is as relaxed now as he was pre kick off...

Try (Taylor, con missed)published at 14:33 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 5-0 Bristol

    Well that didn't take long.

Wasps are awarded a penalty almost immediately from kick off, and Danny Cipriani is told to go for touch - his kick is great and goes within five metres of the try line.

From the line-out Tommy Taylor goes over from the resulting driving maul for his second try of the season.

Jimmy Gopperth's conversion skews to the left, but the hosts lead.

  20. Kick-offpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Wasps 0-0 Bristol

We're underway in the West Midlands.

This is the first meeting between the sides since April 2009, and Bristol haven't beaten their opponents for more than a decade.

However, as the horrible cliche goes, the only stat that'll really matter today is the scoreline...
