It's all Exeter at the moment and just like the opening minutes of the first half they're dominating possession.

Bristol have a little window though as the Chiefs are pinged at the scrum and Will Cliff looks to clear up field.

Really nice balance to their attack. They get near the line and they are so clinical. There's no-one better scoring from that range than Thomas Waldrom.

Try (Waldrom, con Steenson)published at 42 mins

    Bristol 5-31 Exeter

A try immediately after half-time is exactly what Exeter's head coach Rob Baxter will have asked for and to top it off it's the bonus-point try.

Once again it's that man Thomas Waldrom who bulldozes over the Bristol defence and Gareth Steenson nails the conversion.

Hopefully you've had time to refill your drinks and make your second-half snacks?

The players run back out onto the field to the delightful sounds of Calvin Harris "Let's Go" and it's time to get the second forty underway.

While the players catch their breath and hear a few words of wisdom we've got time to look ahead to rest of the weekend's action.

Tomorrow we've two local derbies to enjoy as Harlequins are looking to end Saracens' 13-match unbeaten run and Northampton Saints will be aiming for bragging rights over Wasps.

Elsewhere, Gloucester will be entertaining Newcastle Falcons and Worcester will be welcoming the Sale Sharks to Sixways.

After a good night's sleep you can then enjoy your Sunday roast, with all the trimmings, while taking in Leicester Tigers against Bath and we've got it all covered on the BBC Sport website.

  8. The story of the halfpublished at 20:39 British Summer Time 23 September 2016

    Bristol 5-24 Exeter

Exeter started with purpose and two quick tries from Olly Woodburn ensured that they raced to a 14-0 lead.

But, arguably the hosts scored the try of the half as Ryan Edwards and Jordan Williams combined down the right wing.

A spot of fatigue crept in towards half-time for Bristol and Exeter's forwards took full advantage to push them comfortably ahead.

Pretty disappointing scoreline for Bristol but I think the forwards can take a lot of credit for the last seven minutes of that half. The back are losing the kicking battle - Dwayne Peel is going to have to speak to the backs.

  10. Half-timepublished at 40 mins

    Bristol 5-24 Exeter

Bristol are digging their heels in and frustrating Exeter.

There's less than a minute to go before half time but right now we're resetting scrums for fun.

Referee Tom Foley decided to give the penalty that you hardly ever see, the one for a not straight feed, and after that blows his whistle for half time.

  11. Chiefs, Chiefs, Chiefspublished at 34 mins

    Bristol 5-24 Exeter

Once again Bristol are under immense pressure as Exeter's forwards are overpowering their hosts. They're less than a metre from the try line and we could see a bonus-point try being scored very soon!

  12. 'Exeter battered their way over'published at 31 mins

    Bristol 5-24 Exeter

They've come in ones and twos there and just battered their way over the line. You've got to deal with that in the Premiership and something we have to put right going forward.

    Toot Toot!!

Exeter Chiefs' Thomas Waldrom, also known as Thomas The Tank Engine, has been the top try scorer in the Premiership for the last two seasons for a reason.

Once again he powers over from close range even with a couple of Bristol players hanging on his back and then Gareth Steenson adds the extras.

You can see the delight on Thomas' face...

Bristol haven't really played yet. They haven't had much ball. It's just about gaining some momentum in their half and build some phases. They haven't had that opportunity yet.

  16. Penalty (Steenson)published at 27 mins

    Bristol 5-17 Exeter

Exeter are patiently using their possession to eat up the metres one carry at a time.

It pays dividends as Bristol’s Jordan Crane is pinged at the breakdown and Gareth Steenson punishes the hosts by putting three points on the board.

  17. try

    BOOM! Here come Bristol ...

Ryan Edwards is the man that provides the spark as he leaves Exeter’s Lachie Turner clutching at thin air and charges up field.

The winger puts on the afterburners and makes the most of the support from Jordan Williams. It’s a great score and exactly what they need!

  18. 'Missed opportunity for Bristol'published at 20:11 British Summer Time 23 September 2016

    Bristol 0-14 Exeter

    Quote Message

Great control of the ball by the Chiefs. They're down to 14 men and they worked it through their big power runners. The opportunity was there for Bristol during the kick tennis, they had one less man in the backfield. At some point somebody probably should have chanced their arm and run, you've got Varndell and Williams who are good runners.

Double delight for Exeter's winger Olly Woodburn as finishes an early brace!

Bristol were defending well and pushing Exeter back but one mistake proved costly. Will Hurrell missed an easy tackle on Sam Hill and like all good wingers Woodburn was on the shoulder to finish the try in front of the posts.

As you'd expect Gareth Steenson nails the conversion with ease.

  20. Kick tennispublished at 14 mins

    Bristol 0-7 Exeter

One, two, three, four.... I'm going to stop counting because right now the two sets of kickers are simply playing a bit of kick tennis!

You've got to feel for the forwards shuttling in between... hopefully we'll get some ball in hand soon!
