    Ireland 35-21 Canada

Luke Marshall knocks on from a flat pass from scrum-half Kieran Marmion close to the line.

Good to play close to the line but Marshall was taking the ball so close to the Canadian defenders that he could smell what they had for a pre-match meal.

They could have given themselves more margin for error there.

He's had some very big carries today, Ultan Dillane, he's been running the ball with real menace.

He had to score once he went for the line because he had three people outside him!

Ireland reply at speed and in kind.

Ultan Dillane has been the epitome of the mobile modern second row so far tonight and he barges over the line to add a try to his credits.

Paddy Jackson lands his kick to restore the 12-point cushion.

That's some very nice play from Canada, we haven't seen much of their width so far in the match.

But Ireland will be very disappointed once more, they shouldn't be letting Canada into this game like they are.

    Ireland 28-21 Canada

A lovely move from Canada ends with Matt Evans crashing over in the corner and getting the nose of the ball to the turf just before he is wrestled into touch.

Gordon McRorie lands a superb touchline conversion.

Matt Evans goes flying over the whitewash but it looks like Tiernan O'Halloran has turned the Canada full-back turtle to prevent the ball being grounded...

The video officials will have to decide.

This game has been unstructured at times, and Joe Schmidt won't be very happy with his team - but it's been very entertaining!

Connor Braid puts in a good tackle on Sean O'Brien, throwing himself into the spokes to break the flanker's stride.

Canada get a break as Billy Holland is penalised for binding around an opponent's neck at the ensuing breakdown and take the chance to clear their lines.

Ireland trying to thread the needle in a five-metre channel as congested as a rush-hour Tube carriage, but Tiernan O'Halloran's off-load is a little behind Keith Earls as the line beckoned.

If Canada had their moment of forward beauty in the first half with their maul, then Ireland have theirs here with their scrummaging.

And I'm very glad that the referee only allowed Canada to collapse the scrum twice before he awarded the try.

Canada's pack are sent into a tailspin once again, crumpling like the San Andreas fault under the tectonic-level pressure being applied by Ireland.

The referee has had enough and trots under the posts to award the penalty try.

Paddy Jackson steps up to plop over the two extra points.

Canada are pinged for pulling the set-piece south. Ireland are turning the screw up front and they opt to put Canada through the wringer once more.

That's probably the best two minutes that Ireland have played in this game so far.

We said they needed to up their intensity and that's exactly what they've done at the start of this second half.

Penalty to Ireland, just 10m out. The boys in green huddle up. They are going to opt for the scrum I think.

If Ireland approach this second-half as if they're playing against England or Wales and get back to basics, there's no reason why they won't put on a big score against this Canada team.
