This was a much better performance than the World Cup quarter-final, but the same result in the end.

Australia snatch it at the end, heartbreak for Scotland.

All over in Italy, and the visitors have had an exceptional day, scoring five tries in each half, including a debut try for 19-year-old Rieko Ioane.

    England 37-14 South Africa

Harlequins prop Kyle Sinckler is on for his debut, coach Jones taking the chance to get some seasoning into a few fringe players. Venter darts for the line but is hauled down short and here comes Joseph, bringing it clear. Maybe should have given that, but England go again...

Australia are a man down. Murrayfield are in full voice.

Can the hosts haul this one out of the fire after apparently having had it already won?

That finish from Kuridrani was top draw. The way he stretched to the line was a great effort.

    Scotland 22-16 Australia

Scotland are hunting like ravenous wolves in defence.

John Barclay is a little too eager there though.

He gives away a penalty and Australia kick up to 30m out from the Scotland line.

    A nail-biting finale in prospect.

It was unnecessary for Skelton to do that and it's disappointing for Australia to have an opportunity ruined. Now the Wallabies have to defend with 14 men for 10 minutes.
