    Scotland 22-16 Australia

Darwin's law claims one of the Wallabies.

Will Skelton gives away a knuckle-dragging penalty and earns himself a yellow card as he charges shoulder first into Richie Gray's head at the back of a ruck.

The whistle had gone. John Lacey was about five yards away. And World Rugby issued guidance aimed specifically at such bits of foul play only a couple of days ago.

That might be the match decided by a single act of stupidity.

A wonderful try, that was absolutely brilliant.

Once again it was Ben Youngs with the assist who has had a game and a half today, he has looked absolutely blistering.

    England 37-14 South Africa

Goosen knocks forward before kicking straight into touch, to the delight of the Twickenham crowd. Mako Vunipola off for Marler in the front row and here's an England scrum on the South Africa 22. Youngs has done it again! Dummy, Du Toit buys it, Farrell goes over unopposed.

Scotland don't contest the line-out, preparing for the ground war rather than entering the aerial battle.

Australia are almost shoved over the sidelines, before crabbing infield.

The ref blows for a penalty for Australia. But, hang on, the TMO wants a word...

Henry Ellison: How did the TMO not give that as a forward pass?!

Andy Bennett: Oh, well even in the presence of evidence that isn't a forward pass! Hand wasn't coming backwards...odd call.

    It did look rather forward...

Australia turn down a presentable shot at goal to kick for the corner.

Bernard Foley sets up an Aussie line-out five metres short.

  9. Missed penaltypublished at 61 mins

    England 30-14 South Africa

Billy Vunipola has been a real handful today, it's like trying to tackle a grizzly bear. Here's an England penalty as a result of more of Vunipola's rugged advances but Farrell, amazingly, misses.

    Scotland 22-16 Australia

Richie Gray's little bit of skulduggery - creating a hole for Grant Gilchrist with some lazy running - allows Australia off the hook in their own 22m.

The Wallabies are asking some questions at the other end though.

Nope. Scotland's defence holds strong and wires get crossed between Bernard Foley and Reece Hodge.

Knock-on Scotland ball. Thirteen minutes to go.

    Try (Goosen)published at 58 mins

    England 30-14 South Africa

Nathan Hughes of Wasps is introduced for his Test debut, the Fijian native having completed his three-year residency in England. South Africa have had as much possession as England but they're not doing anything with it, it's pretty knuckleheaded rugby... just as I type, they've put it through the hands and gone over for a fine try... going upstairs for a forward pass... and it's given, although that pass certainly looked forward in slow-mo...

A cracking bit of work from Fraser Brown as he Pococks David Pocock, limpetting down over the tackle to force the turnover.

John Hardie's day is done. A replacement himself, he is heading off on the cart to be switched with Grant Gilchrist.

Richie Gray may be the second row chosen to slot in the back row.

There are three of them out there for Scotland.

Israel Folau is too ambitious once again - his telegraphed off-load swatted down and back by Huw Jones and John Barclay is quickest to pounce on the loose ball.

Turnover and breathing space courtesy of Stuart Hogg's fieldgun boot.

    England 30-9 South Africa

I think it's fair to say that South African rugby is in something of a crisis. They've shown almost nothing behind the scrum today and that can't continue if they want to be successful again. Scrappy passage of play but that's a decent kick by Ford, over the head of Pietersen and into touch.

Replacement prop Gordon Reid with a brain-dead concession of a penalty as he picks up the ball when bound in the centre of the ruck.

Australia kick into the Scotland 22m.

This could be a key period in the match.
