Wow. We promised you a gourmet spread of international rugby - and it delivered. What do you mean you've only just tuned in? Tsk.

That's the international weekend over as far as the Home Nations are concerend. More of the same next week? Yes please. See you then!

New Zealand forward Brodie Retallick talking to Sky Sports: "That's the kind of footie you want to play, it was a great game.

"We have been talking about trying to cut down on the penalties and tonight it didn't help us again. We need to sort it out or it could cost us.

"It was a bit of a reality check (getting beat last week). There are a few things we need to work on and we got caught out in Chicago."

Ireland emptied the tanks out there.

They gave everything they could give and still lost 21-9.

New Zealand always looked the most likely and I really feel for Ireland but they were up against World Champions.

Ireland are going to hold their head up. It is vital having compete for two games against New Zealand that they repeat it against Australia next week.

James Wurr: Ireland have been very unlucky. 3 early injuries to key players and 2 very dubious tries.

Ireland had almost 80% possession in the third quarter, but lacked that killer instinct. Injuries to key men (Sexton, Henshaw, Stander) didn't help, nor did a couple of questionable refereeing decisions.

Plenty of positives to take though for Joe Schmidt's men.

  6. 'Credit to them for holding us out'published at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

    Ireland 9-21 New Zealand

Ireland's Conor Murray talking to Sky Sports: "All credit to New Zealand for holding on in there. We tried our best and full credit to our lads.

"We gave them, not an easy lead, but a couple of sloppy scores. We tried to fight back, but credit to them for holding us out."

Once bitten, twice shy. Well, I say shy. The All Blacks came out swinging, sometimes almost literally. It was a hell of a physical battle. And it needed to be to stop Ireland claiming back-to-back wins.

One thing I really believe in is the harder you work for luckier you get and New Zealand have worked their socks off from the first minute until the last.

Revenge. Ireland threw some big hits at the All Blacks, but lacked that killer instinct against the side they shocked a fortnight ago.

Still a crackerjack though in Dublin.

A poor kick from the All Blacks gifts the ball back to Ireland. Come on, let''s finish this with a try. Jared Payne sniffs whitewash when he gallops through the line, only to spill the ball as he stares into the whites of Ben Smith's eyes. Sums up Ireland's afternoon that.

A hush around the Aviva now. A few home fans might have decided to leg it to the car park. Ireland still having a go, but not very convincingly.

Sean Cronin has made a big impact from the bench. He drills into New Zealand territory again, finding Jamie Heaslip in support. But the Irish number eight loses control as he hits a wall of back shirts. Time running out...

Ireland have huffed and puffed but just haven't been able to blow the house down.

These New Zealand players have no intention of letting this lot embarrass them again. The All Blacks defence has been stoic this afternoon. Some might say a little 'aggressive', but you'll do anything to win a rugby match, right? Sean Cronin drops the ball under pressure as the visitors get a breather.

Former Ireland captain on BBC Two

Huw Jones created Scotland's try with a superb run and offload for Sean Maitland.

I am stunned with his composure, he had very little to do and that was his one big-match moment and he did it perfectly.

He had an awareness around him. It's hard to coach. You to kind of have to have it and he has it.

Into the final 10. Is it too much of an ask for Ireland now? Not if Josh van der Flier has anything to do with it. Or Sean Cronin. The Irish bench is punching holes in the All Blacks defence.

Scotland's Greig Laidlaw, who scored his side's winning penalty moments after hitting the post from another: "Thank goodness I got a second chance. I was disappointed with the first one, that right hand post doesn't like me.

"Credit to the boys. We are delighted to win at home.

"The doubts weren't there from last week. We were disappointed from Australia but we have learned quick in a week.

"The boys were outstanding. To win at home there is no better feeling."
