    Ireland 9-21 New Zealand

That could well knock the stuffing out of Ireland. A sucker punch from the All Blacks. But that's what happens if you don't make possession and territory count against 14 men...

Total class in every respect from New Zealand.

The pass was marginal, very, very close to being forward.

    Fekitoa try, Barrett con

Ah. More urgency from the All Blacks suddenly and it pays off. Beauden Barrett is the architect, making the break before finding Malakai Fekitoa via the hands of TJ Perenara.

    Forward pass? Tight.

It is a fantastic game. You dare not take your eyes off this.

It is an absolute humdinger of a game.

Now the Irish have been opened up. Israel Dagg shows footwork that Michael Flatley would be proud of, zig-zagging his way around the men in green. He looks to have escaped down the right touchline before he is hauled back by the equally-rapid Simon Zebo. Dagg can't find Aaron Cruden with the offload and Ireland survive.

Scotland coach Vern Cotter: "It's a pretty good feeling, better than last week that's for sure. I thought we improved on things we had to to nail a game like that.

"I think you saw real grit and determination to work this one out and get the win, we kept pressure on them. In the first half it became a real arm wrestle.

"We showed character and that was important to get what we needed. We'll have a couple of beers in the shed tonight and then think about Georgia tomorrow."

New Zealand look to rectify that possession stat as soon as they are back to 15 men. They go through six phases without really pushing Ireland back though. Turnover! Rob Kearney boots clear, back come the All Blacks...

Guess how much possession Ireland have had in the second half? Go on. A whopping 80 PER CENT! That tells you how well the All Blacks have defended.

Ireland won't grab that much-needed try while Fekitoa sits in the bin. But they will add three points to their side of the scoreboard. Jared Payne wins the penalty shortly after Rob Kearney is held up short. Better than nowt, as they say in Yorkshire.

Man of the match Jonny Gray: "Fair play to Greig, it shows what kind of determination the guy has got. We were disappointing at times but to get a win against a team like that we are very happy.

"It is small margins and they can make a big difference, we had to guts is out against a strong Argentina team. We are happy to get the win."

You cannot switch off for a second against the All Blacks. Ireland do that at a lineout and almost get punished. Dane Coles scampers away down the left flank, luckily Sean O'Brien has some sprightly legs to snuff out the danger.

Another chance goes begging. Josh van der Flier puts his red-scrumcapped head down and drives. Anton Lienert-Brown desperately clings on to his legs, forcing the Irishman to look for an offload. But the ball is scooped up by a black shirt and the visitors survive.

Well, it wasn't pretty at times and both teams were guilty of error-strewn performances, but you can't fault the desire in either camp.

Greig Laidlaw hit the post from a penalty with minutes to go and Finn Russell twice failed to convert drop goal attempts, but eventually it was the scrum half who kept his nerve to win it with the last kick of the game.

Ireland HAVE to make this extra man count. They almost have a chance immediately, only for Sean O'Brien to knock on inside the All Blacks 22. It won't be their last opportunity in the next six or seven minutes...

That is an absolute certain yellow card.

    No question.

Right then! More, ahem, aggressive defending from the All Blacks is punished. Centre Malakai Fekitoa clatters Simon Zebo with a flailing arm around the gullet and referee Jaco Peyper brings out the yellow card. Don't know how Fekitoa has the cheek to complain.
