    Gloucester 0-3 Bristol

Bristol trundled their way almost up to the five metres from the Gloucester line before they were stopped and they've tried to push their way through.

That said, Gloucester's defence has been teak-tough at the moment. Bristol have a penalty advantage...

    Gloucester 0-3 Bristol

  4. Penalty (Woodward)published at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    Gloucester 0-3 Bristol

Easy slot through by Jason Woodward from close in, and the visitors move in front.

I was at Ashton Gate for the Leicester game last weekend and was impressed with a lot they did. But the Premiership is a bruising business... and ruthless too.

Paddy McAllister has gone off for a head assessment so Gloucester have put Josh Hohneck on as temporary replacement.

  6. Postpublished at 16:37 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    Gloucester 0-0 Bristol

Bit of meaty defence by Bristol, grubbering through to put Gloucester under pressure, and then attacking in numbers to bundle Charlie Sharples in touch.

Raid on the Gloucester line has been continued, up to the 22 Bristol go. Run aground a little.

  7. Postpublished at 16:35 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    Gloucester 0-0 Bristol

Open start to this on a chilly early evening at Kingsholm.

Errors, frantic play and some really hard running have been the hallmarks so far.

Ben Morgan playing like a man with a point to prove, notably to Eddie Jones the England coach!

  8. Postpublished at 16:32 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    Gloucester 0-0 Bristol

Gloucester's record over recent seasons definitely has them tagged in the underachievers camp.

They've already lost five games this season and find themselves at the wrong end of the table. Victory here today would be a double whammy.

Matthew Carley gets us under way and Billy Burns drills a kick down field for Gloucester. Bristol have the ball but punt it back.

Game on - west country derby, at Kingsholm. Packed out.

  10. Is there a shock in the offing?published at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    Gloucester v Bristol (16:30 GMT)

Bristol might want to take a leaf out of the book of another rival - Bath and their Saracens heroics - as they travel to Kingsholm this afternoon for the first time in eight years.

Their return to the Premiership has been a fairly torrid one but there have been glimpses of joy, and in Jordan Williams, Jason Woodward and Adrian Jarvis they've got some canny operators in the backline.

  11. Congrats to Englandpublished at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

Well done to England and Eddie Jones. Unbeaten in the calendar year with four wins over Australia in that sequence, including a 3-0 series whitewash.

    Bath 14-11 Saracens

What a game. Bath have beaten Saracens, the Premiership champions' second defeat of the season.

They began the game with real purpose, building a lead and survived a Saracens fightback toward the break.

Tom Homer's boot was pivotal with three penalties but the defensive effort will have been the most pleasing thing for director of rugby Todd Blackadder.

Sarries did enough in places to win, will their option to kick for the corner rather than take the points be a source of hindsight for Mark McCall?

Time will tell. Saracens stay top, Bath climb above Wasps who play tomorrow.
