    Wales 5-3 Ireland

Leigh Halfpenny takes the scrum cap off, lines up the kick from near the right touchline, and pulls it wide. No good.

Wales get the try and it's a brilliant one too! They move the line-out from left to right, Rhys Webb making the break and finding Leigh Halfpenny bursting forwards.

He sends George North in, he has three men to beat and just bulldozes his way over the line. He was not going to be stopped!

Johnny Sexton has a history of head injuries and he's off to get that looked at - on comes Paddy Jackson.

The TMO has a look at that coming together and it's deemed accidental.

A scrum brings blessed relief to both sets of forwards. Wales get the push on, and break down their left wing. Liam Williams kicks on but immaculate defence from Johnny Sexton sees him gather it in.

    That was promising for Wales.

Sexton took a right whack though. His left eye is swollen already. He got Jonathan Davies' knee in the face.

Big moment there. Line-out five metres out and Alun Wyn Jones gets up and steals it.

    Outstanding play by him.

At the opposite end of the field two years ago, Sam Warburton stole one from us. It was such a big moment in the game.

Nick Hughes:  Webb & Biggar proving why they aren't close to a Lions jersey. Behind Irish & England duo. Best should be captain not Jones.

Hindsight proves that to be a bad call as Wales intercept the line-out. This is tremendous stuff, 90mph from both sides.

Ireland come again, CJ Stander, too small to play for South Africa but big enough to punch a massive hole in the Wales defence. He finds Simon Zebo, he can't squirrel through and it's pulled back for an Irish penalty.

    They kick to the corner.

Very, very well played by Dan Biggar. It's not the position you want to be in.

He goes to ground, waits and shepherds the ball over the line.

    Brilliant play, what nerve.

    Wales 0-3 Ireland

Simon Zebo is almost through a gap after another sloppy Wales pass, he kicks it on and Dan Biggar does well to cover back and touch it down for a 22 drop-out.

So cool that on his own line.

Ireland have had to make 22 tackles already, working hard for a narrow lead. Simon Zebo is then caught with another massive hit - both sides are putting them in.

This is a fine spell for Wales but can they score? That's the problem they've had all tournament. And there you go, a forward pass brings it all to an end.

    Wales 0-3 Ireland

Dan Biggar with the little grubber kick, Liam Williams is in on the left wing - crunched by Rob Kearney.

Another massive hit in the middle and Wales pop it out to the right. George North makes up yards, inside it comes again. A big defensive spell for Ireland...

    Wales 0-3 Ireland

Ireland do go offside at a ruck, CJ Stander the man getting the interpretation wrong on this occasion. This could get confusing...

Wales just run the ball, George North running right through Rob Kearney and recycling inside. Too slow from Dan Biggar though, but Wales now deep in the Irish half...

    Wales 0-3 Ireland

Ireland have dominated from the off and deserve that early lead. What can Wales do in response? Throw an interception, that's what. Dan Biggar with the sloppy pass and Keith Earls may have done more with that.

Johnny Sexton takes his time - and strokes it through the posts. Advantage Ireland.
