I'm not taking anything from Ireland, but it's been so poor and disjointed from Italy.

I just don't see where Italian rugby is going at the moment. They've got some difficult weeks ahead.

That's the icing on the cake, taking Ireland over the half century.

It has been a total team performance.

  3. try

Converted try - Italy 10-56 Irelandpublished at 78 mins

    Craig Gilroy (con Jackson)

A try that belongs to the last five minutes of an already-decided match.

George Biagi spills the ball forward, CJ Stander puts his big size tens through the back of the ball and an awkward bounce opens up a path to the line for Craig Gilroy's second.

    Another two from Paddy Jackson.

Italy with a crowd-pleasing late rally.

A little swagger back in their stride as they break into the Ireland 22m in search of a consolation.

    Absolute class from Garry Ringrose!

What he has is that change of direction, and serious gas whenever he gets into any kind of space.

That makes it seven tries to a penalty try. It's a superb performance from Ireland whatever way you look at it.

  9. try

Converted try - Italy 10-49 Irelandpublished at 71 mins

    Garry Ringrose (con Jackson)

A lovely jink and sway from Ireland centre Garry Ringrose - Sergio Parisse is one of those transfixed and left for dead - takes him clear and he puts on the afterburners to beat the cover and get under the sticks.

Another two from Jackson from the simplest of kicks.

What will that do for Craig Gilroy's confidence?

But someone please explain that clearance from Italy's Giovanbattista Venditti.

I don't want to exaggerate over Paddy Jackson... but his distribution, his coming up in defence and his goal kicking have been top notch.

It's been a really quality performance from him again today

  13. try

Converted try - Italy 10-42 Irelandpublished at 69 mins

    Craig Gilroy (con Jackson)

Italy's defence has soaked up a huge number of Ireland runners and now as tenderised as a sandwich steak.

Craig Gilroy, fresh off the bench, steps inside Michele Campagnaro, presses the pedal and leaves the covering Carlo Canna choking on fumes.

Paddy Jackson converts the sixth try.

All of Ireland's points have come from tries so far today.

    Italy 10-35 Ireland

Ireland working their way through the phases once again.

Some heavy-duty runners as Sean O'Brien and James Tracy both dent the blue wall.

Paddy Jackson tries something a little subtler. But his chip ahead is gathered by Giovanbattista Venditti ahead of Craig Gilroy.

  15. Losing focus?published at 65 mins

    Italy 10-35 Ireland

Ireland's penalty count has crept up in the second half - both sides have conceded six apiece now.

The Irish have also conceded 12 turnovers to Italy's 11.

They have definitely switched off a bit since CJ Stander's third try.

Paddy Jackson takes a steepling up and under on halfway. Nicely done.

Hooker James Tracy is on for his Six Nations debut for Ireland, prop John Ryan also stretching his legs.

The replacements' arrival and done-and-dusted scoreline though means the match has come off the boil.

Disjointed passages of play and a lack of precision and urgency from both teams.

To be fair, Craig Gilroy got as close to it as he possibly could.

Another opportunity coming up from the scrum...
