That is Harlem Globetrotters stuff from Ireland, basketballing the ball out of the tackle and keeping the play alive.

Italy are desperately trying to pin down the play and buy themselves time to reorganise, but it is like pinning mercury to a board.

The ball is flipped wide, Craig Gilroy on the stretch, can't quite keep it in play...

Quick tap and go from Edoardo Gori, smart thinking and Italy are up to within five.

It might have been a bit too quick for his own team-mates however.

Ireland fly-half Paddy Jackson picks on someone who is definitely not his own size, pinching the ball from Sergio Parisse's grasp while Jamie Heaslip does the dirty work of cutting the Italy number eight down at the knees.

    Turnover and pressure relieved.

Better from Italy as they work the ball back against the drift defence with a slick scissors.

A snorting Sergio Parisse - inexhaustible in pursuit of a fading cause - bashes up into the Ireland 22m.

    Cian Healy has played well.

It's good for his confidence and good to switch guys around, too. You can see what Joe Schmidt is trying to develop.

That was a brilliant dink by Jackson, almost creating another try for Ireland.

A clever little poked grubber from Paddy Jackson and Michele Campagnaro's first duty off the bench is to get to the bobbling ball before the Ireland chase.

  11. Replacementpublished at 50 mins

    Italy 10-35 Ireland

A raft of changes from the bench.

Ireland replace Robbie Henshaw with Craig Gilroy while Italy withdraw Leonardo Ghiraldini and Dries van Schalkwy for Ornel Gega and George Biagi.

    And another...

Exeter centre Michele Campagnaro is on for Tommaso Benvenuti.

With Ireland enjoying all the possession, Italy's players are busy in defence.

These are the top five tacklers in the game - they're all Italian.

Looking down the list of the top tacklers in the match, the first Irishman you get to is Niall Scannell in ninth.

I love the confidence that Ireland are showing at the moment.

It's the stepping, staying on your feet and keeping the ball alive.

Converted try - Italy 10-35 Irelandpublished at 45 mins

    CJ Stander (con Jackson)

Is this the sort of ball-carrying that we are going to be seeing in a Lions' six shirt in the summer?

CJ Stander has an eye for a gap as well as a frame for minding nightclub doors.

The Ireland blind-side slides through a gap around the fringes of the breakdown and canters in from 30m out, swatting aside a gulping Edoardo Padovani en route.

Another two from Paddy Jackson, who has been immaculate off the tee.

Angelo Esposito gets up fast in the chase to snare Simon Zebo as Ireland attempt to run a clearing kick back into Italy territory.

Italy are still fighting a rearguard action though, being forced back and only buying a momentary bit of relief with their kicks downfield.

Donnacha Ryan is back into the fray after his yellow card in the first half.
