That's why you have to take your points when the chance to kick for three comes along.

This match will be won or lost by a small margin; an opportunity lost for Wales.

Wales with a line-out five out.

Caught cleanly, the backs come streaming in, the rumble is on...

    But the whistle blows.

One of the Wales lifters has got in front of the catcher and obstructed Scotland.

Penalty and huge relief for the hosts.

    Six Nations

I'm not sure what Vern Cotter said at the break to his Scotland boys. But he might want to think about a career in motivational speaking after rugby.

Total domination (until that break by Jonathan Davies).

That Welsh break seemed to come out of nowhere. Jonathan Davies found a wonderful angle.

  7. So close for Walespublished at 49 mins

    Scotland 16-13 Wales

What a line by Jonathan Davies!

The Wales centre carves through midfield and charges for the line.

The Scotland cover hauls him down just short. Davies pops off the floor, but the ball slips away from Rhys Webb with the line beckoning.

That was a nailed-on score if it stuck.

Fine margins so far in the second half.

The Murrayfield crowd are sensing an end to their 10-year wait for victory over Wales.

Flower of Scotland is ringing around the stands as play continues in midfield.

Their team are playing with an extra half-yard of pace and a half-second of urgency.

My goodness. The kick for the conversion came in off the upright, and those two points might be absolutely crucial at the end of the day.

An incredible effort by Scott Williams but Tommy Seymour has grounded the ball.

Stuart Hogg delays his ball to Tim Visser who draws in Leigh Halfpenny and a great finish from Seymour.

Converted try - Scotland 16-13 Walespublished at 43 mins

    Tommy Seymour, con Russell

Tommy Seymour gets downward pressure just before he is shoved out of play.

It was a delicious move from Scotland that out-foxed the Wales defence with Stuart Hogg's delayed pass, behind Huw Jones' decoy run, opening up the space for wings Tim Visser and Seymour to combine for the final few metres.

Finn Russell's conversion glances in off the upright for two more points.

    HT: Scotland 9-13 Wales

Former Scotland International Jason White on BBC One:

"Justin Tipuric at the breakdown has been like a bad rash we can't get rid of. From a Scottish point of view we need to make sure we get the guards in place quickly.

"We've not talked too much about the backs. We need to see more of Hogg and Dunbar, get the crowd involved."

The Welsh pack has put in an immense effort in that first half - and here are the stats that prove it.

The four leading tacklers so far are all Welsh forwards, led by the hard-working Justin Tipuric.
