Jamie George going off is one of a raft of changes made by Saracens in their bid to get back into this match.

    Bristol 7-31 Wasps

Bristol are showing signs of being a spent force, both in this match and as far as their Premiership status is concerned.

Wasps have a fifth try and Guy Thompson is the man to put the ball down after Matt Symons picked the ball up on the counter attack.

Danny Cipriani is wayward with his conversion but the hosts now need three more tries minimum and to lose by fewer than seven points... or they're relegated.

    Northampton 20-9 Saracens

Alex Lozowski, from a full 43 metres out, manages to slot a penalty through the posts.

Don't rule the visitors out of this yet.

    Bristol 7-26 Wasps

Is that the final nail in the coffin for Bristol's lingering hopes of Premiership survival?

The league's top try-scorer Christian Wade gets the score - it's a simple overlap and run in for the winger, who must surely be in Lions contention.

It's his 16th try of the season, and credit must go to Willie Le Roux for the assist.

Jimmy Gopperth cannot convert, and is then replaced among a whole host of substitutions.

  8. try

    Northampton 20-6 Saracens

Dylan Hartley may have picked the perfect time to score his first try of the season.

He runs to the back of the pack off his own lineout inside the Saracens 22, grabs the ball and is driven over the line.

Harry Mallinder, who hit the post at the end of the first half, adds the extras.

Exeter and Wasps will be delighted their nearest rivals for a home semi-final are currently losing.

A warm, sweaty embrace between two Lions rivals - Dylan Hartley and Jamie George - from the first half.

But anyway, Harry Mallinder gets us off for the second half.

Saint's number 10 Stephen Myler - strapping on his left knee before the break - has been replaced by Rory Hutchinson.

Lengthy phase of play for the visitors, who are thwarted by a physical home defence.

Bristol were thrashed 70-22 at Wasps back in September - you can see how far they have come since then, which perhaps shows why promoted Championship sides need more time to build their squads for the following season...

    Bristol 7-21 Wasps

Close, but not close enough once again for Bristol.

Some sustained pressure results in Mitch Eadie being tackled four metres short of the line, thanks to Jason Woodward's unbelievable offload, but it ultimately comes to nothing.

Wasps scramble clear, it's not pretty but it's effective.

    Bristol 7-21 Wasps

Sam Jeffries is the latest Bristol player to make a handling error, knocking on into the hands of Kurtley Beale.

In fairness Wasps are proving difficult to break down, as you'd expect, but the hosts just need to hold their nerve a bit more.

The second half has started at Ashton Gate, where Bristol need to produce something special to prevent being relegated this afternoon.

The hosts have brought on Jamal Ford-Robinson on for Gaston Cortes, probably for his ball-carrying ability.

Stoppages for injuries to Stephen Myler and Louis Picamoles mean they're a fair bit behind at Stadium:MK, but we'll let you know when Northampton-Saracens restarts.

England captain Dylan Hartley says it would be a "bonus" to be selected for the British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand this summer.

Hartley, 31, led Eddie Jones' side to the Six Nations championship last month, with Lions head coach Warren Gatland naming his touring party on Wednesday.

"I'm not building myself up for possibly what would be a setback in my eyes," Hartley told BBC Sport.

"So I'm taking it as it comes. I'm happy where I am at the moment. If it comes it is a bonus. If not then I have got other things to play for and other things to look forward to."

Saracens kick the ball into touch to signal the break, where Harry Mallinder's try has helped give Saints the lead.

  18. Missed penalty (Mallinder)published at 15:52 British Summer Time 16 April 2017

    Northampton 13-6 Saracens

Mallinder hits the post and it bounces into play, but Saracens manage to keep the ball away from the onrushing Jamie Gibson and win a scrum.

Myler gets back to his feet but is not moving well. Harry Mallinder boots the ball to touch, and then off the back of the lineout Saints win another penalty, which Mallinder stands over instead of Myler.

    Northampton 13-6 Saracens

A break in play now as Northampton's fly-half Stephen Myler is down wriggling in pain, potentially having hurt his knee when landing from a tackle.

His side have a penalty at goal. Will he be able to take it?
