So what's the table like for all the teams in action today?

Well, Bristol could be relegated today as we've already heard, while a win for Wasps will take them clear of second-placed Exeter at the top of the Premiership.

Saracens will be hoping to keep the pressure on the Chiefs in a bid for a home semi-final and a Northampton victory will take them into the top six, where qualification for the European Champions Cup applies.

Struggling Bristol make one change for the visit of Premiership leaders Wasps, with Nick Fenton-Wells starting in the back row in place of the injured Jack Lam.

Dai Young's Wasps side make three changes, all in the pack, as Matt Symons comes into the second row.

James Haskell returns to the back row, along with Nathan Hughes, after being rested, which sees Guy Thompson switch from number eight to openside flanker, while prop Jake Cooper-Woolley (knee) is fit enough to be on the bench.

Bristol: Woodward; Edwards, Hurrell, Henson, Tovey; Searle, Mathewson; Bevington, Jones (capt), Cortes, Phillips, Sorenson, Jeffries, Fenton-Wells, Eadie.

'Why is there a photo of the MK Dons stadium on a rugby union page?', I hear you ask.

Well, Stadium:MK is the venue for this afternoon's Northampton-Saracens game.

Saints have already said they will not play any "regular season" matches here next season, but are utilising the extra capacity it has over their usual Franklin's Gardens home.

"Franklin's Gardens is our home, and we've seen over the years how important it is to have a full stadium and a vibrant atmosphere to give the players the environment in which to thrive," says chairman-elect John White.

This photo sums up where Wasps and Saracens sit towards the top of the Premiership.

Dai Young's side are leading from the front, with the chance to go clear of second-placed Exeter this afternoon, while reigning champions Sarries are on their coattails, six points behind.

Both teams are assured of being in the play-offs but there's a home semi-final advantage for the sides that finish the regular-season first and second, so there's plenty to play for in the race to reach that Twickenham final.

    What happened?

At the end of the season we could look back and say that yesterday was a pivotal day in the race for the top four.

While Leicester breezed past Newcastle 30-3, Bath had a little harder time at Worcester, losing 25-16 to drop five points behind fourth-placed Tigers.

For Warriors, the result moved them closer to securing their Premiership status for another season at the expense of Bristol.

In the other game of the day, Gloucester came out on top in a nine-try thriller at Kingsholm against Sale.

Three games to play, 12 points adrift at the bottom - Bristol are teetering on the edge of relegation.

If Mark Tainton's side are to have any hope of taking their fight into the penultimate round of fixtures, they must either beat leaders Wasps at home today or emerge with at least a losing bonus point AND a four-try bonus.

Wasps are jostling for a home play-off semi-final along with third-placed Saracens, who go to mid-table Northampton.

We're at that exciting stage where things start to get decided.
