Rob Baxter's side are attempting to do something no other Premiership side has done.

Win a seventh game in a row and score four tries in the process.

It's not all been plain sailing at Sandy Park but Exeter are halfway there - they're ahead against Northampton and have two tries.

Dan Beard: Tremendous defensive effort by Bristol so far. Hats off to them.

Well said, Dan - it's certainly been a performance full of grit. Would this be the Premiership shock of the season if Bristol can hold out?

    Saracens 3-9 Bristol

It is a Lions year and Gavin Henson is performing Warren Gatland.

Three penalties from the Welshman has given the already relegated side the lead at break in what has been a very committed defensive display.

This probably makes little sense, but Northampton will honestly be pleased to only be five points behind here at the interval.

Other than their interception try early on, Saints haven't had a look-in, and Exeter have been relentless going forward.

Adam: Didn't Pisi's slap take it backwards, then it bounced forwards off Woodburn's calves? Not a knock on.

You're not the only one who doesn't think the decision was clear cut, Adam - Northampton questioned whether the call was a "tad harsh" on their Twitter page...

    Leicester 20-10 Sale

Freddie Burns kicks a penalty to end the half in a haul of 15 points in that first 40 minutes including a try.

Sale have competed throughout and are still in this one but they have a lot of work to do.

    Saracens 3-9 Bristol

Saracens finally have the points that their play has deserved as Owen Farrell is succesful from the tee.

This is some Bristol defensive effort so far though.

The first play after Ken Pisi's yellow card, Stu Townsend feeds Olly Woodburn the ball out wide, who makes the finish look easy (it really wasn't!).

It's a tough conversion for Gareth Steenson, who's effort drifts wide.

The score now reflects the way this match has gone thus far.

As we close in on half-time at Saracens you would have got some odds on this scoreline.

Gavin Henson knocks over a second, and then shortly after a third, penalty to take a two score lead at Allianz Park.

  14. try

Try (Kitchener)published at 15:38 British Summer Time 29 April 2017

    Leicester 17-10 Sale

The Tigers seemed to have found some rhythm now and after a couple of drives towards the line, lock Graham Kitchener, on his 100th appearance, goes over.

Freddie Burns keeps up his perfect kicking record.

First Northampton knock on at the scrum and Stu Townsend tries to scramble over, but knocks on himself on the try-line.

Not to be denied, Exeter put in a big forward effort which allows Don Armand to carry over from short range.

Gareth Steenson does what he normally does and converts, so we're all square with 11 minutes to half time.

Leicester have 10 points. Freddie Burns has 10 points.

He finishes off a slick Tigers attack and celebrates wildly in his final home appearance before his move to Bath in the summer and then knocks over the extras.

    Or not...

At first glance it looked a fine finish in the corner from Jack Nowell, but experienced ref JP Doyle goes to the TMO, who confirms the England man had lost control of the ball.

A lot of people were fooled there, thinking Nowell had got the ball down - including me.
