A West Country derby with nine tries is not to be sniffed at.

Bath have sealed a Champions Cup spot for next season but have kept their hopes of snatching the final play-off spot alive.

They need a bonus-point win at Sale on the final day, and hope Leicester come away empty-handed from Worcester to take fourth place.

We'll bring you updates on that and much more next weekend.

We're disappointed with our performance here today. Emotionally we put so much into last week, maybe we were a bit flat. Defensively we were a little bit soft and credit to Bath, they took their opportunities.

We've been wanting to put in a performance in defence and attack, and we've done that today. Obviously we still need a favour from Worcester (to finish fourth) but all we've got to do is play our game and get enough points to be there if Leicester do slip up.

    Taulupe Faletau, Bath's hat-trick hero

    FT: Bath 44-20 Gloucester

It's hard to believe that absolutely nothing happened in the first 20 minutes, yet we end with 64 points in all.

Taulupe Faletau takes the headlines with his hat-trick, but several Bath players were on their game.

Bath can still finish fourth if they win their last game and Leicester slip up, while Gloucester's hopes of a Champions Cup spot are over.

  8. try

    Bath 44-20 Gloucester

There are some very tired legs out there.

David Halaifonua is sent through from the edge of the 22 and does the business.

Greig Laidlaw converts, but it's just a consolation.

He has been really quite majestic. Simply put, he is so, so good at rugby.

He's been dominating in defence and attack. The complete player.

    Bath 44-13 Gloucester

Everything looks under control in a ruck, but as the ball comes out Taulupe Faletau strolls over to complete his hat-trick.

Magnificent work from the Wales and Lions man.

Even the Gloucester Twitter account has used the word "miserable".

No conversion this time for Bath.

Charlie Sharples breaks clear for the visitors and feeds Jonny May, who now also has two tries.

It's clever link-up play from two of Gloucester's experienced players.

    The conversion is missed.

The Kane train stops for no man today. He's been awesome since he came on.

Aled Brew has been dominant as well. Bath are rampant today.

    Bath 39-8 Gloucester

It's a second try of the afternoon for Bath number eight Taulupe Faletau, who will be part of the Lions squad this summer.

Kane Palma-Newport made the try happen, and don't get me wrong it's more impressive play from the home side, but Gloucester have crumbled.

Rhys Preisland is slightly off-target with the conversion but the home faithful probably don't care.

Are we witnessing a man-of-the-match display from Bath's Kahn Fotuali'i?

The Samoan has just played an exquisite no-look pass for his second assist of the half, allowing Robbie Fruean to run through and touch down unattended.

Most importantly it's a crucial bonus-point try for the hosts, and Rhys Preistland converts.

The scoreline is looking worse for Gloucester by the minute...

Motu Matu'u has belatedly been led off the field to get his head injury looked at - Richard Hibbard comes back on in his place.

The Cherry and Whites are having more of this match now, but Bath are comfortable enough and have that big buffer in their favour.
