While most of their Premiership rivals had their feet up last weekend, Bath and Gloucester were slugging it out in Challenge Cup semi-finals against French opposition.

The Cherry and Whites prevailed on the continent, edging past La Rochelle by two points, but it was despair for near neighbours Bath who lost out at Stade Francais after a last-minute drop-goal.

There's no rest for the wicked as both return to top-flight action in a West Country derby which has play-off and European qualification permutations.
