    England 0-7 Ireland

Kyle Sinckler slumps to his knees as the England prop goes deep-diving into a breakdown.

    Penalty Ireland.

And this should be meat and drink for Johnny Sexton...

England show some adventure for the first time, spinning wide and asking questions. But Ireland are ready and George Kruis coughs up the pill to see possession pass back to the men in green.

Absolutely delighted with how it's going so far. Ireland look very settled. You can see the pressure building on England already.

Ireland's front row are pinged for not driving straight - that looked to be Mako Vunipola getting one over his Lions' team-mate Tadhg Furlong.

A chance for England to clear their lines.

Eddie Jones looks utterly impassive at the moment.

In my opinion though, England are hitting too high into the Irish ball-carriers. They're wasting their time doing that. They need to go low and start taking the ball-carriers out.

    England 0-7 Ireland

Usually relentlessly, remorselessly accurate, Ireland's handling lets them down.

Bundee Aki can't reel in Rob Kearney's deft pop pass out wide.

Dylan Hartley uses the stoppage to get some clarification from referee Angus Gardner over the breakdown.

The aim is to adapt, survive and thrive to however the laws are being interpreted.

Something England failed to do in their last two games.

Zeb Bowyer: Farrell smashing Haskell in the head with the ball from 3 yards away, just about sums England’s game up at the moment. Brainless and mindless. He’s wearing a bright red skull cap!

Ireland are working through the phases, with one-out heavy artillery runners denting the white wall.

They are up to 10 metres from the England line.

Antoine V: Why are England going for the corner today when they kicked and bagged the points against France last week? (Despite needing the bonus point) Have England got their strategy papers in a muddle?

Paddy Emmerson: England have started to look a bit like the side that played under Lancaster.

Rae: England can forget about getting anything out of this game, the officials have decided to offer them nothing.

A lot of negativity from English fans so far. Plenty of time to turn it around.

    Tom Fordyce
    Chief sports writer at Twickenham

All the noise coming from the green-shirted hordes in pockets around the Twickenham stands. Fields of Athenry rather than Swing Low in the air, groans and sighs from the concerned home support.

    England with more brain-dead play.

Owen Farrell's clearing kick clonks James Haskell's scrum-hatted head.

Haskell's skull - sat on a neck the width of an Iberian ham - barely wobbles.

But that is accidental offside and a scrum for Ireland, 30 metres from the England line.

Can they come away with points once again?

    More mistakes from England.

Maro Itoje is needlessly offside on the fringe and then, inexplicably, the whole England pack shuts the gap on the resulting line-out, giving away a free-kick and handing Ireland a free pass out of their own half.

Fields of Athenry ringing around Twickenham with only 12 minutes gone.

    England 0-7 Ireland

Great start from Ireland. Little bits of indiscipline from England as well is helping the Irish settle down really quickly. They mean business today.

    England 0-7 Ireland

And to back up Simon Gleave's point back down at 14:56 GMT, England make a hash of another prime bit of field position.

They opt to punt a kickable penalty for touch, claim the line-out cleanly, but the driving maul splutters to a complete halt.

Ireland keep the ball off the floor with a collective choke tackle and the ball is turned over.

Eddie Jones will be pulling out whatever hair is left up there.

James Collins: Mike Brown would have caught that

Francis Edwards: That all came from a ridiculous error from Farrell. All he could do was laugh when he gave it away. Basic error and punished by clinical Ireland!

Ralph Brooker: REALLY angry. Indiscipline.Unbelievable after those two defeats to hand Ireland a try from mad tackle.

Andrew Priestley: In all fairness, I believe Rob Kearney has knocked that ball on in the ariel challenge with Anthony Watson. Not that I care in any way, shape or form!

    England v Ireland (14:45 GMT)

Our friend at Gracenote, Simon Gleave, crunched the numbers on England and Ireland's entries into the 22 ahead of today's game.

    • Excluding the games against Italy, England had made 23 entries into the 22, scoring four tries and 26 points.
    • Ireland, meanwhile, had made 22 entries and came away with a whopping nine tries and 65 points.

They say the stats don't lie. And Ireland are proving them right already this afternoon. Another entry, another try.

    England 0-7 Ireland

    Matt Dawson
Former Lions and England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

What a kick from Johnny Sexton! It landed on the line and Anthony Watson did not know where he was as it came down. Rob Kearney came charging in and put him off. The next touch was Garry Ringrose touching it down. A dynamic start for Ireland... but I'd like to see another camera angle on it though [to see if there was a knock-on].

Converted try - England 0-7 Irelandpublished at 6 mins

    Garry Ringrose (con Sexton)

The video inquest was long and lengthy.

Rob Kearney's challenge on Antony Watson passes the test. It did look legitmate.

Then it is all about the grounding.

Watson has a half-hearted claim to the dot-down, but when the ball bounces up off your head you are stretching.

Instead Ringrose gets the decisive touch.

Right decision and Ireland will surely try that up-and-under tactic again.

Sexton splits the sticks with the conversion.

Does Garry Ringrose get the dot down on the loose ball...

It looks like he might have.
