That's the final whistle on this weekend's Premiership action, but don't worry, there's not long to wait until it returns.

As well as the third round of the Six Nations, there's also a full programme of Premiership action next weekend, starting with four matches on Saturday.

Speaking to BT Sport after the game Dai Young gave his overall assessment and an update on a couple of the injuries sustained by his side.

"A real arm-wrestle and a real physical battle. I thought that we just did enough to be honest with you but it could have gone either way as you saw. It was a really tough game but obviously there’s a bit of a dampener on it with some of the injuries that we picked up.

"Danny Cipriani twinged his Achilles but made the sensible decision not to keep going and wreck it so that’s hopefully not too bad. Marcus [Watson] went over on his ankle and that’s a bit swollen at the minute but Alex Rieder’s look quite nasty really. You feel for him as he’s worked his socks off to come back from a nasty injury."

Duels between Wasps and Exeter Chiefs are becoming legendary in this competition and despite it being a relatively low-scoring contest that one was another cracker.

In the end Marcus Watson's try, plus the boots of Jimmy Gopperth and Danny Cipriani are enough to secure victory for the home side.

A 62nd-minute try from Luke Cowan-Dickie, converted by Gareth Steenson, plus the sin-binning to Ashley Johnson made it a tense and enthralling finish.

This match simply doesn't want to end...

After Don Armand is held up Wasps launch their own attack but they're bundled into touch and there's just time for the line-out.

The Chiefs take it quick and Santiago Cordero breaks forwards. However with the time in red Gaby Lovobalavu decides that enough is enough and his tackle takes the winger into touch.

Exeter work through the phases and they're up to 12 as we move into the final minute of the game.

They're on the half-way line but Ollie Devoto powers his way through. Rob Baxter's men simply can't find a way through right now and Don Armand is held up.

Jimmy Gopperth drills the ball through the middle of the uprights to plump their cushion and there's now just over two minutes to go.

The drums are sounding in the crowd and the home fans are roaring their side on as they move up to the 11th phase of this attack...

Mitch Lees is penalised for kicking the ball out of the ruck to win it back and Wasps have a decision to make... corner or posts?

Wasps aren't making the sort of metres that they'd want to so Dan Robson decides that enough is enough and he puts the box-kick through.

The result pins Exeter back and again the visiting side's line-out is stolen.

Immediately Jake Cooper-Woolley atones for his mistake with a key turnover on Julian Salvi...

Salvi has been a menace at the breakdown himself today but this time he's on the receiving end of some textbook scavenging work.

Exeter gain the penalty off the scrum.

Jake Cooper-Woolley is the man penalised and once again Gareth Steenson puts considerable length on the penalty to get them up to the half-way line.

It's sensible play from Jimmy Gopperth to pin Exeter back and Jack Innard's first Premiership line-out throw doesn't find the mark and is disrupted.

As James Gaskell looks to power through there's one minute 30 seconds left on Ashley Johnson's sin-bin period.

Thomas Young makes another purposeful break before Tom Cruse fumbles and ends the move.

Exeter are just starting to spot a few mismatches and Santiago Cordero's eyes light up when he sees two forwards in front of him.

However, his mind is on the next move and he knocks on. As you'd expect the international winger is fuming with himself and the home side set the scrum on the half-way line.

With a man-disadvantage Wasps know that they need to keep control of the ball and try and wind the clock down.

There's a little over four minutes left on Ashley Johnson's sin-bin period however a great tackle from Jack Innard, who is on for his debut, hands Exeter possession back.

"You're always high and you're out of control but there's a drop of height."

Those are the words of JP Doyle as he explains to Ashley Johnson why the forward is leaving the field for 10 minutes. Johnson's collision is with Don Armand head and he's off for a breather.

Exeter exit however simply hand possession back to their hosts.. Ashley Johnson runs a superb dummy line to draw in a couple of defenders and then Willie Le Roux is keen for work.

Le Roux pops it to Gaby Lovobalavu who cuts back. They continue to build up to ten phases before Johnson infringes on the clean out going far too high on Don Armand... this could be card.

There's still plenty of time left in this game and it restarts with a Wasps scrum just inside Exeter's half.

They whip it wide with pace however the Exeter's cover defence is strong and they force the home side to run out of pitch.

There's a warm round of applause for Alex Rieder as he is stretched off the field.

Dismay is etched over his face and we all wish him the very best as he looks to recover from this latest injury.

The game remains halted whilst Alex Rieder receives the best possible care on the field.

He will be replaced by Ashley Johnson and both sides are just running through a few handling drills to keep sharp and warm.
